The Hot Shots come up on Camofire now and then. I haven't tried them. I like the heavy wool knit "half finger" with the fold over mitten. I can wear a merino wool liner glove under, if necessary. A hand warmer pack slid into the glove also helps.

No snow, just small patches on the rim. We went today, down the Young road. Found a nice Doug Fir. They are sparce but they are there.

Great hunt! And great time with family and buds, especially from the mid-west. My brother comes out from Indiana when I get an elk tag. We have a blast together. Used to love playing yuker...not sure I can remember how anymore. You have a knack for story telling/writing. Thanks for sharing.

I was about to do a similar post when I read this. Mine suddenly opened up to a 2" group at 100 yrds. Rem 700 .270, sporter barrel. 600 rounds.

I can't get past the twisted fluting on the barrel.

I am contemplating the same in 6.5 PRC. Ridgeline or X-bolt LR ($800 less) or X-bolt Pro. The X-bolts get good reviews.

Do you suppose these would fit/not rub a stock 2014 Ram 2500 diesel with a 2" level kit on the front?
