There's a guy in Deer Creek too. He's done my deer in the past...good job. I drop elk off at Southwest's (Miller's) trailer at Clint's Well due to location. I used Ron a couple times years ago. He does it all boneless. Good to hear he is still in business.

There are no coues in 22....might as well stay home this year. Seriously, you will find them throughout the unit. It takes a lot of glassing and patience...they can be hard to find some days, and one day you will see many.

I got one for free with my subscription to Eastman's Journal. Haven't used it yet. It looks better designed than the Havalon, for the reasons you mentioned.

I'm in. M, W, Th works for me. I will be helping a buddy with his elk hunt through next Tuesday though. It would be a fun way to meet some of you all. The few times I've been there, the bar area was pretty crowded. Not sure if we would need to "reserve" a table or the side room.- 14 replies

How soon does it have to move? The buyer would have to pour a slab first. Any permits required to put it on residential property and have it hooked up? -

Me too. Good luck. They are hard to find and go fast if they are in decent shape.

I have a Harris, but it's a bit bulky. It's hard to fit in my Eberlestock scabbard. Last year I got a small, short, detachable bipod....I think it's a Stoney Point. It comes with a sling swivel adapter that you snap the bipod to. It's only good for prone position, but is very lightweight. It cants as well, due to the rubbery leg attachment points. So far it has worked well.

Guns Etc sells safes. They have quite an inventory of various manufacturers. I got a good deal on one with their moving sale discount. I don't know if they have anything on sale now.

In all of my travels, I have never come across a sidewinder.

Here are some images I took of a Blind Snake we found in our garden. This was under a low magnification microscope. In the 2nd pic you can see eyes on the head. The tail is next to the head.

I have been thinking of getting this pack. Just a few questions: Why are you selling it? Likes/dislikes? What color? Where are you located? Pictures?

I've found these on the Rim. Also smaller "clam" type shells on the Rim along the deep canyons. Seems to support the Great Flood.

Darn Tough Socks Gear Review
Viper replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
I will have to give them a try. Geez, their website has many styles. Which ones do you recommend? I usually go with a merino blend, light hiker. I just picked up a couple pair of Cabelas light hikers, but haven't tried them yet. Thanks -
Question for gun safe owners in the lower desert areas
Viper replied to CJNAZ's topic in The Campfire
I pondered this a few months ago when I bought mine. I made room in the house. More secure, out of sight, controlled environment. If in the garage, definitely have to bolt it down. I don't think the heat would be a problem on guns and ammo...maybe a problem with digital media. Seasonal Humidity is what I would be concerned about on the guns, but there are devices for that. A lot of guys do it though. -
I also have the Alaknak 12x12. I have the stove that was sold at a discount with the tent several years ago. It's a cheaper stove...not very airtight, but works quite well. If temps are not below freezing, the stove is too much heat. I usually just use a propane heater, since most temps on my hunts are above freezing. The stove is a great option on Nov/Dec hunts. There is nothing like nestling into a warm bag with the slight smell of juniper, the crackle of burning wood, and the soft glow of the the stove....makes me wish for colder hunts. I was in Cabelas looking at this stove set up in the Alaknak 12x20 display last weekend. It is tempting to upgrade...

I bought a new safe a couple months ago from Guns Etc in Mesa. I got a "moving sale" good deal on a Heritage, one of the larger models...made in the USA. I hear they will be having several models built in China starting this year....like many of the others. It seems to be of good quality, security and features. Plenty of room for my needs. It's a heavy sucker!

Maybe do a ride along with G&F during surveys. What unit are you wanting to fly over? I have a family member in Springerville with a small plane.

I saw it in person a couple weeks ago when I picked up my mount. It is spectacular! Clay does awesome work!
