    whats wrong with us!!!

I'll tell you what has helped us, GLASSING, I have seen more deer each year, in our area by glassing, it takes getting use to to seeing these deer under trees far away. But, if you use those Binos on a tripod and glass you'll get better, also scout often, scouting will help you with your glassing tecnique and you will find out what kind of trees, hillsides and like I said before you WILL see them more often. Honestly me and my dad have hunted 7 years in Unit 33 it took 3 years to get our first deer, but now we get atleast 1 every year, This year was the first year I scouted heavily, and I killed the buck I was after a dream buck for me. If you put in preseason effort with glassing practice and scouting it will all follow, also make sure you go to the range often nothings worse than having a buck in your sights and missing! (I speak from expierance ). Another thing if you can get out with your dad and hunt other things, My passion is predator hunting and bird hunting, Theres nothing that helps buck feaver/ shooting at a deer when you have to make shots on coyotes and bobcats! Dont give up, it will all come together, I promise.

    Need a pistol

I strongly reccomend the Ruger LCP in .380 thats what my dad carries now, he switched over from a glock 27, its an awesome shooter, very very impressed with the accuracy from the short barrel, Highly reccomended. http://www.ruger.com/LCP/

Found lion kill - Nice buck

Not sure if this is the right section but here it goes. I found these early in the year during our HAM javelina hunt. Looks to be a lion kill it was found in Unit 33 Would have scored really nicely had that shaft not been broken off.

Found lion kill - Nice buck

Yeah the ribs and legs were all chewed on, and the vertebre was broken. that could have been post death but I doubt it. Amazing that coyotes didn't scatter the bones and carry off the legs. Those palm trees in the skyline make me wonder where you were hunting. Bill Quimby Oh no, thats just where I lashed the head up on my gate at home for the skin to decompose.
  11. Shot him yesterday afternoon, in unit 33. The taxidermist said he was atleast 8 but probably closer to 10 or 11 6x6 without the guards (scoreable) 6x7 otherwise.

  17. I was thinking the same thing! What a unique looking buck! Do you have any photos looking straight on from the front? Here is the closest I have to straight on.
  18. Nope, but when i jumped him 2 other bucks jumped up one had similar looking antlers less points but higer. probably a 4x4 and the other had spikes that were about 12 inches long really weird looking.
  19. Here are a few more pic's I just got in an email. they're a bit better.
