Lake Mary Multi Species Fishing (Video)

Looks like a great trip -- love fishing for northerners on spinner baits - toss in a few walleye and crappie makes for a fun day -- Not to throw a stick in the wheel - if you do consider eating - has G&F posted the mercury levels or warnings recently for Lake Mary ?

on the other side - I know roads that are a hazard and have several areas where a vehicle either can not make it or have a good chance of someone being injured if they try . I mean rolling off the road completely these roads are open on fs maps - go figure

    G&F Land Access Survey

the first sentence says it all - raise fees -- the rest won't matter they always put out these "surveys" and then post the results they want -- so they will tell us the survey shows we want a raise in fees just like the application fee raise - they wanted 15 but we raised a stink - so to get what they wanted- they say "at the last minute" because someone just thought it up - the application fee will only rise to $10 but the other $3 is for habitat -- that wasn't what they proposed but to get the money they had to come up with something now they will say its for accessing more private land - most ranchers in the antelope areas have their own trespass fees already - as do others I doubt private land owners are going to hand over hunting rights for a few dollars

    Water Hole Ethics

cut the trails coming into the tanks- like stated above we've seen group after group basically hold up . kind of like staging areas - within earshot of tanks bull bugles 6-8 times from same spot then 20 minutes later here they come on the run spend a few evenings scouting at the tanks - but do not sit the tanks but find these little spots - the majority of the time - elk wait till the last minutes of shoot able light before swarming the tanks finding these little staging spots gives you first come first serve and better shooting light

The one that got away... Stolen.

the tale of 2 hunters close friends hunting in the desert - . basically just slow stalking along keeping an eye out for deer . the one in front stops is looking around and sees a deer - He's "ppsst - ppsst " to his hunting buddy - look over there its a nice buck buddy walks up sees the deer lifts his rifle and with one shot, he drops the buck the other guy is standing there mouth wide open - then proclaims - " Hey !! you just shot my buck!" the hunting partner calmly states - "why didn't you just shoot it - I thought you wanted me too - so I did - what were you waiting for ?" moral to the story - if you see a nice buck - just shoot it - no need to wait - the next guy won't !

    Long Range Archery

longe range equipment - probably less than 25% of archers even think about all the technical aspects of simple bow set-up arrow weight inflight statistics of arrows /broadheadsand how they perform - penetration etc. at normal distances let alone 80-90 100 yrds + the info is out there - somewhere

    Long Range Archery

punching holes in paper is practice- taking a calm concentrating shot at whatever distance - most will say this makes in the field hunting shots easier - kinda like instinctive shooting- it just happens 90%+ shoots taking in the field are anything but a calm standing shot while being able to take your time and concentrate the further the distance the % of accuracy can and normally will make for poor shot placement under even ideal shooting options while in the field . like many have said guy hits paper quarter size groups out to 60 yrds - goes hunting and completely misses an elk at 30 yrds . I've wondered why over the yrs these 3d shoots didn't involve some simple physical type challenges thru out the courses between and just before shooting . results would change dramatically wheres the "program software " for that try it at home walk fast or run even a short distance and then make a shot as quickly as possible - might surprise you chasing elk or any animal over Az terrain and finally getting within 100 yrds or less--- changes everything that's not taking into account --- do you have a clear shooting lane for these long range distances

Random question in Coues elevation habitat changes

Generally deer live their whole lives in a core/zone 1-2 mile square area - elevations will vary depending on if the core is in the flats or in the higher elevations Bucks tend to have a wider Zone of travel then the does highly unlikely that whitetail bucks will travel great distances just to get to higher cooler elevations Bucks that live up high will tend to stay there - bucks in the flats will do the same just like when you bugger a big buck out of the little bottoms of a side canyon - up over the top he goes - wait a few days and you find him right back in the same general area Food and water dictates how far they will travel - get a dry spell and the tanks and habitat dry up they move accordingly- get the wet season and they are right back at home agin just my .02 its has been and always will be - find the does and you'll find the bucks during the rut early archery and the antler growing season changes how bucks act - they won't travel far and water is the main deal that early in the hotter seasons

    Snake gaiters

Edge join the crowd - not hearing rattlers is no joking matter - I made the step - hearing aids - surprised how noisy things are now - lol never worn snake gators - never will - 50 some yrs hunting Az and have luckily never had a tooooo close encounter - a lot of close ones - just makes you get a better feel/ respect of nature I've slowed down and take a second to actually look where I'm going- I understand most places we walk one can not see the ground, with a snakes natural camo - we tend to not see them either just remember to be careful when in places snakes like to hide out - under trees/ rocks in areas around water - rarely see them to be honest - doesn't mean they are not there - chances of just stepping on one in the open is slim .

old timers call them = 100 yr floods - like we get them every one hundred yrs - I remember (2) 100 yr floods in a row - wiped out every bridge but the temple mill ave one and they were genuinely worried about it going seen several over the years where you couldn't cross the tonto by Pumpkin Center We can get a lot of rain at different times in different areas of the state - look at last yrs flooding a few yrs back we almost lost Ash Fork bridges under the 1-40 Weather men can say rain 10 % - 20 % - whatever but the way storms develop here in Az --one never knows how bad it will be till it happens

    Knuckleheads of Yellowstone Park

I would not say the mother bear charged anyone - looks like she was looking for the fastest way to get off the bridge. when she sees the end of bridge she goes faster when one cub got behind, then she came back and then they all left agin . I don't see where she charged at tourists. Getting photos of wild animals can lead to dangerous situations , especially with a mom bear with cubs but I do not see it in this clip a bunch of idiots - possibly but it wasn't like they were crowding her - she just wanted off the bridge too the people were just following orders to get off bridge - from the warden - " keep going " Its obvious momma was moving a lot fasters than the geezers
