Who's getting excited for dove season?
Hunterjohnny replied to Goldfinger78's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
You guys have it going on! I have a farm in Stanfield that I have always hunted and it had very few birds this year. How do you find these spots? I see lots of agriculture but isn't most of that in some city limits? -
We would catch the biggest bluegills there by the boat load! Thanks for the flash back.

Not a fan of those stocks but that is a beautiful rifle! Good luck.

AZ Hotshots? -
That is so cool! Just the look on peoples faces when you pull it out would be priceless!

I am interested in the Marlin if it's still available.
-
Like Bingo! I love it!

My experience there is that the lower areas get hammered. And the rest will eat you alive. The thick vegetation is almost impossible to get through or even see very far. I'm sure if you spent enough time in there you could find some good spots, but man you are going to pay the piper doing it.

Much better than my unit with 700 tags in one hunt!

Beautiful work. I have always had a passion for wanting to do stuff like this but accept the fact now that it is a skill set not in my DNA. It is a nice piece, good job.

What about flat brimmed but at an angle!

XL Disco was the bomb on our last trip!

Thanks for responses. I did draw 6A and saw the old post. I hadn’t thought of the fact that you would probably still have to lug it out to a horse, which means a quad would be about the same. Over the years my job has evolved to mostly desk time and I am painfully aware at 52 I cannot do what I used to do. I am starting to get more active and have plenty of time to be in better condition for the hunt, was just spitballing ideas. A weak back has always been my limit and it’s almost comical how just one wrong turn or twist can totally immobile you if your not careful. Sounds like a canyon bull will be a shared bull! Which works for me! Do those Creedmore’s pull game towards you with the backdraft?

So sorry for your loss. Truly tough time.

I too would be curious. The old back is not what it used to be and I know there are some bad canyons in 6A. It would be nice to have info ahead of time if the situation presented itself. My friend is old like me so that doesn't help.

Tell us about your elk rifle, and cartridge?
Hunterjohnny replied to Stray Horse's topic in Elk Hunting
Considering a Browning BAR in 300 WM that I have never done anything with. But my 270 would be real sad, that said it hasn't brought me luck either! -
Fourth of July! I’ll be there!

Has Stoneman Lake had water the last few years? Probably full now but I was thinking it was empty.

How come this stuff never makes news in AZ???
Hunterjohnny replied to PowellSixO's topic in The Campfire
Yup I got that. It just struck me funny picturing a knife-gun. I was choosing humor over the reality that this whole situation. Dirt bag chooses to be difficult I have no sympathy for him getting an extra reminder that he was wrong, looking like the cop lied and abused his powers bad move on his part. I have never been in this situation because I comply with what I am asked with law enforcement. We have them because we as a society created them. You will never win by following this criminals example. -

Wait.....you can shoot them with a knife? Not bullets?
