Went to the Antelope Eaters contest this weekend.Pretty tough getting around with an 1 1/2 of rain on Friday night.Spent 3 hours stuck on Sat,but got out on our own,and ended up with 2 fox,and a coyote. We should have had a couple more, but happy with what we got. Thanks to the Mohave sportsman club for taking the time to put this on.I think they ended up taking 40 or so coyotes out of the gene pool, thanks again.

We had a tough time on Sat.I would like to talk to you on the phone for about 5 minutes as to what sounds to use.Leave your number, and we'll use my dime,Cliff

When you can kill bucks like that with a bow,no wonder you can kill pigs with a self made bow.Very nice, welcome to the site.

There are no stupid questions when you are trying to learn.Bobcats, lions, bears take longer to come in-up to 45 minutes,1 hour.Coyotes, foxes can take seconds, depending on how far out they are when you start.I usually call for 20-25 min.for coyotes, and 45 for bobcats,1hour for lions.Alot depends on your gut feeling about the stand.Hope this helps

I will take the caller if it is still available.

Is the caller the MA 21?

I would say that it was probably an evaporated milk can,the holes were made with an ice pick.A miner friend used to do this all the time to get his milk out.

I'll give you 125.00 for them.

I lost my older brother when I was 13,that was 49 years ago.He was working at the Page Springs fish hatchery, and I was supposed to go and stay with him when I got out of school for the summer. It was only 2 weeks away, but it never happened.I wish I could tell you that it will be better, but I would only be lying.Time will help, but I still love and miss him.Trust in your friends, your lord, and your family, and you will see him again.

Words will never take yogi's place, just rest assured that he is in a better place, and you will come together at a later date.So sorry

The only thing I ever seen eat a coyote was the last lion that I killed. We started him off of the coyote that was ate on,and buried.I told the wildlife manager that I thought his deer herd was in bad shape, when the lions are having to eat coyotes. He told me we were in a dwindling deer herd.He has since retired.

Anybody using a levergun for Coues?
DCS replied to MT_Sourdough's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
I have shot several nice coues with my model 88 Winchester 243 lever gun.It was the first rifle my dad gave me in 1962.We hunted horseback, and it fit a scabbard better, and my dad was left handed so he could shoot it also.We killed buffalo, elk, deer, pigs, and bulls that we couldn't round up.I still have it. -
Epperson's Africa Plains game Hunt with GreaterKuduLandSafaris

From the pics and story it looks as if you had a great time.I went 2 years ago and just finished an addition on the house to bring my stuff home from the taxidermist next week.I went with Dries Visser, and had a good time, but the animals were nothing like yours Josh. The guide was also lacking as I was the first bowhunter he had ever taken.Way to go Josh -
These stories are true,if you know anyone that is a true cowboy working on a ranch then you know cowboys will try to rope anything that will run or fly.My dad tried to rope several antelope on ranches in New Mexico, and Chino valley, but they would just outrun him. Finally one day another cowboy chased a buck by him from across a flat, and when the buck came by a juniper my dad hung it on him.His uncle had roped several bears in New Mexico until one almost got in the saddle with him. This stopped all roping of bears after that.

I watched the fire burn to within about a half mile of our ranch today, and the wind changed direction, and burned back to the south away from us.I am sick, and numb from the loss of life. Please pray for their families,Thank you
