I think sometimes the tag holders are so old by the time they draw they cant get their walkers and oxygen tanks up the mountain.

I tried to look it up on Google just now but all that comes up is a recent sheep poaching near Tucson and 8-10 stories of a deer poacher named Blake from Heber.

Its a two edged sword. More enforcement would be good but I could also see only purple haired, hunter hating, man buns being hired on as new USFS employees.

Evidently the winter kill is bad in Wy and Utah. I heard on a podcast that gas and oil workers are already stacking up antelope carcasses by the 100’s. Evidently some cow elk are starting to abort their calves because they have not eaten enough to sustain them. They expect the does that di survive to sbort also if they have not already. They dont expect many of last years fawns and calves to survive. So thats two fawn/calf years basically wiped out. Not sure about Colorado.

Frozen Water bottles are the ice but when it melts you wont have water sitting in the bottom of the cooler

Freeze the meat solid. Put it in the cooler and fill any open space with frozen water bottles. Tape seal the lid and cover it with a sleeping bag. It will still be ice cold when you get home if you don’t open it. Don’t open it is the key. People dry age beef for WEEKS without being frozen. A day or two cold but not frozen will be fine. Maybe even beneficial.

One thing that they changed is now you can only buy tickets if you are in Arizona. They check your location when you buy them I guess if you have a good VPN you could fool it though.

My wife and I will be paying close to $900 this year just to get new tags on 2 cars. All of us pay $0.18 per gallon state gas tax at the pump. (plus fed gas tax) My question is this,.....why do the roads still suck? I think the 300 road up on the rim is smoother than 1-17 between Phx and Tucson.

You pay sales tax where you buy not where you live. if you buy a TV in Flagstaff but live in Tucson Best Buy doesn’t ask you where you live when you check out

Has Colorado mentioned anything about winter kill concerns for deer? I was ready to go this year for deer but if it keeps snowing I might wait.
