^^^^^ This Small adjustments with a peep can change POI. Good luck with the slider. I will never use one again.

I have never fished for crappie except under lights and that is hit and miss. What would be a good technique this time of year?

SSS The speaker is probably right. This state is a mini CA. We hunters are too busy fighting each other over trivial shoot like crossbows and long range rifles to be concerned about something of importance. -

What are limited entry hunts? Are these those special tags they threw out there last year? If so they've added elk, antelope, and turkey. -

I didn't misspeak. I am in total agreement they hurt average hunters. I would like to think this is going to make it harder for an outfitter to book a nonresident hunter when they don't know if a unit is going to be open or not. I didn't see it but there was also a cap of 10% of total tags allocated to nonresidents discussed earlier. I am hoping that is still a go. The areas I hunt in the Dec/Jan hunts have been overrun with guided NR hunters the last 2-3 years. Maybe this slows it down. If it doesn't the "average Joe" is screwed again. I am not sure I like the quota system but something needs to be done. I would have preferred to see a draw but with the huge influx of people, drought, loss of habitat, predation and hunting pressure the desert mule deer herd needs some help. -

Hope the guys pushing for quotas are happy. Those archery kill numbers are pretty restrictive. Gonna hurt outfitters -
I used to blow coal black snot out my nose after a day of hardfacing with Ranite green tip. Throw in some organophosphate fumes when rebuilding injector knives and I am loaded up with good stuff.

No kidding! Being a dumbass and working for a guy that didn’t care about his employees has caused me many health issues. Years of inhaling welding smoke and fumes without ventilation or a welding mask has taken a heavy toll on my nervous system. Heavy metals are no joke!

And those late rut hunts are what I live for. I cannot imagine not chasing rutting mule deer.

That sucks. They are potentially decreasing opportunity.

I guess it's just coincidence that Pfizer, who was an Oscar sponsor just happens to be working on a drug to treat alopecia.

I have never fished jigs with much success except for smallies on the rip rap fingers of the Colorado River south of Blythe. And they were heavy because of river current. What do guys think is the best all around jig weight?

Another thought......units with multiple hunts, if there are 300 deer allowed in a given hunt are they going to allow all archery allocated deer to be taken in any given hunt or break it down to where 10 are allowed in the early hunt, 10 in December and 10 in Jan or start with 30 and whenever that number is reached shut down the archery hunts? Personally I would prefer to see it spread out for more hunting opportunity. The possibility would exist that all archery deer could be killed in the early hunt and that would close down the later hunts.

So if I use unit 42 as an example, 81 general bucks were taken. They are going to base the archery tags on 20% of that which would be 16 additonal deer or assume that the 81 deer represent 80% of the take and make a total of 101 deer taken?? That would add 20 deer to the total harvest??? I am confused.

Really have the itch to hit Alamo. Was at Havasu yesterday but didn't fish. Plan on heading back after Easter when it won't be so crazy. I haven't been smallie fishing in at least 20 years.
-
We should know soon. I had thoughts about unit 42 and the December closure. If they go to the quota system it should open up. In fact I would think that all units should open. It would give more opportunity to get away from the crowds and have a better quality hunt.

There are elk nearly anyplace in 6A you want to look. Just pick an area and start scouting. Seriously.

Switching from applying for rifle to archery tags?
creed replied to couesdeerhntr's topic in Antelope Hunting
Archery antelope is a blast! I like it much better than rifle. I have been fortunate enough to draw 4 tags, one rifle and 3 archery and have filled all but once. And I think spot and stalk antelope is much easier than desert muleys. Not much challenge hunting antelope with a rifle. The success rates prove it. And 14 bp's are still low odds on many archery hunts. -
06 is a good all around cartridge. If I had to have one rifle for western hunting i would choose a 7mm Magnum. If I can't do it with a 7 I probably shouldn't be doing it.

Drew a unit eight bull tag and an 18B antelope. Both archery

Been there after over 30 years of marriage. It is comparable in some ways to a death. It takes lots of adjusting and time but it will eventually get better. It sounds like you shouldn’t consider reconciliation even if she wanted to. As hard as it is sometimes it’s better to walk away and start over.

Something similar happened to me in the bonus round. I didn't understand at the time how it happened. I put early archery 9 first, 10 second. I had enough points to draw 10 in the bonus round but not 9. I drew 10. Gotta be careful
