I used to walk fences around water catchments and windmills looking for sheds. Sometimes they drop from impact with the ground. I know of a guy that got a set of sheds that went 233 in unit 41 doing that.

Better vote boys and girls or you will wish to heck you did. The libs are organized and up in arms. Cameltoe and Liar Joe have big plans for us if they are elected. Senate is just as important. I don't like McSally but the alternative makes me sick.

Fishing was not that great during the day, just enough to keep it interesting. I grabbed about 4 hours of sleep and started throwing black worms. Nothing. Changed over to a crank bait and lit it up. Between 2:30 and 4 am it seemed nearly every cast had a bass hit it. As soon as it started getting light enough to see bass started busting shad. Crank bait right in the boils usually caught a small bass. Lots of fun!

I know a guy that did exactly that. They closed the area to archery hunting even though he did nothing illegal at the tiime. People don't like seeing the neighborhood buck dying in their yard with an arrow sticking out of him.

I lost about half use of my left arm 3 years ago due to a shoulder injury. It's getting to where I can't hold a compound. I qualify for a crossbow permit which I will use before I sit out the desert muley rut. Anyone have any thoughts on use of an airbow? I thought they were illegal here until a friend pointed it out that they were legal for most big game including elk during archery seasons.
-
I would give alot to be able to pull a 70lb compound. I can't do it anymore. It's hard to come to grips with the fact that I used to be able to bench 330lbs but now have trouble holding a 7lb bow. I love archery. I love hunting. Something like an airbow or even crossbow is not something I want to do. But I don't want to give up hunting desert muleys during the rut either. Here's a suggestion that will go over like a turd in the punch bowl......cut the January archery season to two weeks and let the handicap airbow/crossbow guys have two weeks. Problem solved LOL!

It really isn’t much more of an advantage than a skilled archer with a well tuned compound. I shot an antelope at 92 yards with a Hoyt Vectrix. This thing probably isn’t much better than that. If you get on the Bowsite forums the traditionalist say much of the same thing about modern compounds.

Nick, I don't remember that. But then I wasn't into hunting the late hunts either. I do remember when there were leftover muzzy tags for the late desert hunt. I was lucky enough this year to draw that same hunt. Maybe use an airbow Just kidding, I think?🙄

I don’t have a problem with rifles other than it takes me out of the mule deer rut.

With great difficulty :) Seriously, I agree with you to a large degree. And I am likely not going that route. I can still hold a compound but no longer than a few seconds before my arm goes to dropping and and I am unable to hold on the target. It is leading to me punching the trigger and hurrying the shot. And my injury is progressive. The thought of sitting out my favorite time of the year when there is a legal way to keep hunting is hard to take.

I used to be of the same mentality until I lost the use of an arm. It changed my perspective of a lot of things.

I was watching some youtube videos. Guy had a great idea using welding compressed air to charge them. 2 inch groups at 50 yds

That's the one without narrative. I didn't see it when you posted it. It is priceless. https://www.facebook.com/stephan.inman.737/videos/166866721636389/?fref=mentions

And then you have the big pussy Doc Rivers crying. What a friggin drama queen!

The buck looking straight into the camera did the same thing. There were a couple of other bucks using the same two catchments that followed the same pattern. I was told by a G&F guy that the optimum spacing between desert waters was 3 miles. These drinkers were almost exactly 3 miles apart.

It was my ex, Delw. DON"T STOP!!! KEEP DRIVING! She's like a stray, feed it once and now it stays.
-
No. There were few does in the area he lived in. He left every year but returned after the rut. The catchment he hit had a couple of other desert muleys that were huge. They disappeared too during the rut.
-
I watched a muley buck for 4 years on trailcamera. He would disappear in December and reappear in mid March nearly every year. What was interesting was in the non rut months he was always with the same two other bucks. Donnie Lee and I saw him once during the rut 20 miles north of where he called home. That was the last time I saw him. He would have netted 210 or better
-
Why not? It was purchased for that particular hunt not an OTC.

I know nothing about coues but a muley will have about a 10-15 sq mile range depending on food or water. During the rut they will move a long ways. A buck I watched on trail camera all summer/fall was killed 35 miles away the following January. I don't know about arrow accuracy changes at those elevations. I can't shoot well enough to tell the difference.
