Mary Stine passed away this morning at the age of 18 due to complications from her lifelong battle against ulcerative colitis. Mary was an active participant in the Outdoor Experience 4 All and hunted every day she was healthy enough to head into the field. Most of her hunts would get cut short due to failing health but within days she was planning the next adventure. Her parents, Lana and Larry Stine, worked so hard to make sure Mary was a ready as she could be for every hunt, and served has great role models to all of us. Even though Mary spent most birthdays and holidays in the hospital, she was always smiling and welcomed visitors. As hard as all of us at OE4A tried to be a blessing in Mary’s life, she always seemed to be a bigger blessing to ours. I read a lot of hunting stories but I cannot remember one that I enjoyed more than this one. A sincere "thanks for sharing"

Great buck, great pictures and great story!

Of course, just improving the buck:doe ratio is not going to solve all of our problems. But when deer densities are low, a higher buck to doe ratio will insure that all available does get bred and are bred within as narrow a window as possible. As Amanda pointed out, this will improve fawn survival by overwhelming the predators. As fawn survival improves then the entire population base can begin to improve. Controlling predators is a huge issue. The decline of deer populations in AZ coincided with the prolonged drought, but it all started about the same time we lost trapping. This is a guess on my part, but I think the decline had more to do with increased pressure from predators than the weather. Frankly, we can't do anything about the weather anyways, so while we need to acknowledge it as a factor we need to manage what we have control over and not blame it on the weather.

Amanda Can we send a check to you made payable to CW and then you can add it to the accumulated funds? I am just trying to avoid the processing fees from PP, I know it can get costly.

Brian Congratulations on an awesome buck! We will work hard to get a child out in the field in December and take advantage of that tag. We will keep everyone posted and we can turn it into a CW.com hunt.

Being down here in the Valley and feeling sorry for myself most of the time, I sometimes forget what a beautiful state we live in. I was having fun from the time I left home! I was working at the registration area most of the time and only got to shoot one course but it was still a treat. BTW>>>You guys need to buy a generator and invite Amanda to everyone of your hunts...if she brings the espresso machine.

A sincere thanks to the CW community for all of your support. I really don't know how refreshing it is to have your there in body or spirit!
