I recently bought an Encore, and being a lefty shooter I have no need for this stock. Asking $65.00. Send a PM if you are interested.

Unless you are going to do a lot of towing and or long highway trips, save yourself a lot of money and stick with a gas truck. You will be spending more money on tires, more money on fuel (per gallon), engine repairs are expensive. I can almost buy an engine in one of my gas trucks for what the fuel pump costs in my diesel truck.

2014 was my best year!!! Two great bucks.

Great bucks both. Congrats on a great year. -
I never wait until the last week to get in, but I know it is human nature to procrastinate. I don't think it is unreasonable for a person to be able to expect to go online at the last minute to put it. If they can't handle the volume, then I also think it is reasonable for them to extend the deadline like they did. However...we have been in the internet age for what something like 30 years, you would think someone down there would be able to figure all of this stuff out without system crashes every draw cycle.

Nice big cat, congrats

Cool find, been there a while.

Dennis, I'm with Lance. Why magnaport? Get the barrel threaded and then put on a break, if you don't like it put on another.

I agree with all the other posters. Both when you can afford, but good binocs on a tripod first.

Bill brings up a good point, everywhere I have seen that stuff it turns dark and the bark sheds off.

4 scoreable points on each side and it's not a Muley, call it what you want. Everywhere else but here it's a 4X4 or if you are from the east coast it's an 8 pointer

Mike that gave me a headache

yep, I got one this week as well, it seems I drew tag number 0 and didn't even get to go.

They are all very conservative, they have to be to avoid litigation. If you look at reloading books from 40 years ago you will see a huge difference in max loads. Too many variations in chamber size, free bore, temperature etc. I am not afraid to exceed under certain conditions, but most of the time I find a sweet spot within the published load range. I quit wasting money on books and just start low and work up. There is plenty of legitimate published information on the internet to come up with a starting point.

Yep, like DB said, I use a Kestrel weather station, that way you have accurate conditions where you are at and at that time. You can even get one that connects to your phone via Bluetooth and you don't even need to manually enter it

I can't disagree with any of the previous posters. Here's why I shoot a heavy rifle with sendero contour. To shoot a rifle well at extreme ranges I need to practice a lot. In order to be comfortable shooting a lot the rifle needs to be comfortable to shoot. Heavy rifle combined with muzzle break are the 2 best ways to do this. If I were to build a rifle specifically for backpacking I would probably choose something in a non-magnum caliber shooting a smaller projectile such as a 6.5. and try to keep the rifle under 8 pounds.

Hey there Tight Guy, I hadn't noticed you on the forum before. PM some time so we can catch up.

It is funny to speculate the un-randomness of these totally random drawings. I predict this thread will go for weeks....maybe even years

I have decided to make an effort this year to eliminate some predators and have some fun doing it. My questions is have any of you had success calling in mountain lions and what sounds have you used. Also, tactics for lion would be appreciated. I have a Foxpro Shockwave and the standard sounds that come with it. Thanks.

I have been waiting a year and a half since they introduced these to get my hands on some. Can't wait to send some of them down range. 308nut was nice enough to call me New Years Eve to let me know that Midway had some. Thanks

Sweet...I am shooting almost the same setup. Remington brass, 210..sometimes 215 GMM Primer, H1000 at 76 grains for the 208 Amax. I am getting just a few fps over 2900 at my elevation (5,000 feet) I just recently started playing with the 210 VLD's from Berger and my second group with that load was 5/8 inch at 300 yards. The Berger averaged about 2910 fps with 74 grains of H1000. I have no explanation why the Berger was running faster with 2 grains less powder and 2 grains more bullet, but I'm not complaining
