We didn't have a lot of time to hunt between running a business and finding a sitter for the kiddos we would only be able to drive up and hunt 1 day a week. The first day out we past on 8 bucks wife was mad she really wanted to shoot one I told her to be patient that the rut will get better and we will find bigger deer as it gets later in the hunt. The next time out we only glassed one buck and couldn't get a shot we ranged him at 780 yards with the wind swirling 25 mph across the canyon. We went back out on the 29 th which would be her last opportunity to shoot a buck well we got to our spot at 8:30 and the rut was on we had several bucks chasing does so after 30 min of checking over all the bucks in sight the wife said I gonna shoot that buck at the top chasing the doe so we set up ranged 488 yards and boom wap 1 shot the buck rolled 25 yards down the hill . Wife was super excited and never had seen so many deer in one spot this was her first rut hunt she was all smiles.

I have a lock jaw rifle railz set up on my rifle with my tripod plate connected to it just locks in makes for a steady long shot if you need one I think Amanda has them for sale on here if not I can get you in touch with David .
