More like a need for a cool place to reload and find peace with a growing family! Expensive stuff is staying in the house. Thanks.

Prices vary on the container depending on grade, any refurbishing (seal/paint), and insulation. After shopping options, I felt like I got a good deal for refurbished and insulated 20' @ $3000. Another $500 for wood, chalk, paint, etc. and a smoking OfferUp deal for a new LG portable AC @ $200. Electrical is next.

When applicable, I always like to try and come back to supply an update after starting a thread so here it is. Factoring in security and return on investment, the container won hands down. Thanks, Lance and Vowell. I went with an insulated 20' container with OSB radiant barrier walls/ceiling (aluminum-sided sheets facing out) and a Portable AC (Over-sized/14,000 BTU) with 6" exhaust/vent. I'm certainly not a carpenter and was not seeking perfection, but would be happy to share any other information upon request.
  9. Bloomberg - seems like 10 anti-Trump ads for every 1 he actually talks about his platform without mentioning Trump. Regardless of your political stance, that is just pathetic. NFL - NBA, etc. I can't begin to describe how much they suck with their politics. I used to love all sports, college if and only now. That was a great Daniel Defense ad, btw.

CWT always comes through with good (and often creative) advice so I'm back for more. I have no existing problems, but I'm looking for recommendations and ideas on surveillance systems and deterrents to theft in addition to dogs, motion lights and locks. Specifically, I was gauging pros/cons on one of the newer 4+ camera systems connected to home WiFi now that they are getting cheaper and got curious if anyone was running cellular game cameras that send notifications to a phone. Most important thing is knowing if there is someone on the far side of my property in the middle of the night. Thanks in advance.

    Popcorn thread continues on MonsterMuleys>com

Yup, sorry AZ8 but as I was typing... Nothing against the MM guys, but CWT is a special place that is much closer to home for him. 1- How many guys got on that few-page thread and left a positive comment without any idea of the truth after it had been exposed. 2- How many guys have called out and threads and pages have been dedicated to the clown here on CWT. Truly a POS. If he was even halfway decent he would have been here. It worked (for many) when he was telling the truth about being a camera thief.

Hadn't seen that combo and it looks pretty good. Con would be the Amazon/Alexa connection but the price and reviews put it on the list to consider. Thanks, DUG.

    Big City Buck

Funny how the situation you've been day dreaming about for several years becomes boring just 30 yards away from your quarry. Patience pays. Good story, great buck, and an even better friend you have. Enjoy the wait 'til next year!

    First deer ever!

Big congratulations to you, Bradley! Your success in such a short time is something to be very proud of. Based on your attitude and persistence, you are going to have a long, successful hunting journey. I (and many of us here on the site) look especially forward to seeing it!

Big Coues Buck Hit! Need help....

It looks like you may have clipped one lung, perhaps the front based on your armpit feeling. I've never shot 73 yards or know your setup but my 40 yard and under vital shots have all been pass throughs, all a guess but maybe even a shot that stuck in the opposite shoulder then puncturing a lung when he took off. There is some evidence (to me) of oxygenated blood in that pile. The last time I saw a single lung hit on a quartering shot we tracked him in a right-handed horseshoe for about 600 yards thanks to the snow. My partner and I couldn't have imagined he made it past that first 200 yard bed but he did, 4 more beds and lots of blood later. Good luck, these critters are tough but these posts suck.

    2019 Late Whitetail Deer Hunt

Thanks for the story and great buck!

I agree with both of the posts above. Also, I do believe coues (especially does) have a 1 square mile home range, it just is rarely anything like a square and it changes/ranges over time based on food, water and cover (pressure for bucks). Not sure if this part is relevant but expanding a bit on Matt's post, one place I have been hunting lately had 50 deer/sqmi in one area and 2 deer for the next 2 miles directly adjacent. You would think their is a fringe but it very much a specific habitat change. And that line changed seasonally because of the aspect.

    Big Herds, Small Bucks

I shot a spike in January last year after my profile buck the year before. I'm no trophy hunter, just a guy that wanted to get the full experience on his first late whitetail hunt. I cherished every day and every deer I saw. I again, sure don't mean to sound like I'm high and mighty or not thankful in any regard. I absolutely understand what you're saying though, Zeke! These were my favorite moments of the hunt, hands down.. 20191227_131114.mp4
