I've been trying to get up to 27 to scout but it has been one thing after another the last few weekends but I'm definitely going up this coming weekend.

Check with some of the folks over here. I remember recently reading about some changes to the Halibut Regs. http://forums.outdoorsdirectory.com/forumdisplay.php/23-Alaska-Fishing-Forums

You and me both.

I would never shoot it but that's just me. I would sell it off as I'm not in the market for a 45 but if I were I'd sell it and put the money towards a Les Baer. Congrats on the win.

Got a link? I've never seen Elk eating Lichen.

I have the smaller 4000 - 9000 Mr Heater Buddy and on low it keeps a 10x10 tent a good 20 degrees warmer than the outside temp. I bought a long hose for it and run it off a 5 gallon bottle.

What is the most efficient way to learn a new unit?
PRDATR replied to SHeap's topic in Rifle hunting for Coues Deer
Boots on the ground and this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^. Just remember, if an area is easy to get to you will have more competition. Getting out and camping and talking to others in the area will give you some much needed experience as will looking for tracks. -
I use a double headed 3/4 axe with a fiberglass handle. I also have a hatchet but I very rarely use it as I will pick up enough kindling to get the fire started. I also have a small fiberglass shovel that is about 30" long for the fire pit.

I know most people are having a hard time finding any affordable 22 but if you have some of this please read this from Winchester. http://www.winchester.com/library/news/Pages/s22lrt-recall.aspx

I just use lead shot and my gun's pattern is about maxed out at 35 yards, my personal limit. I still have some old duplex loads of 2x4 and 4x6. This year I picked up a few boxes of Winchester Turkey loads at 1 3/4oz if #5 shot when Sports Authoring was closing out the Ammo. They were marked $15.99 for a box of 10 but I think they were on clearance for 25 or 30% off. Three boxes will last me many, many years.

Being a Newlywed has it's pitfalls. LOL On short notice there are Florists who can deliver in a couple of hours, just sayin. But send them to her Mom then go buy that tent. It's easier to get forgiveness than permission and if it goes over like a lead balloon there is always that great makeup $ex.

Federal Firearms License Holder
PRDATR replied to couesbowhunter1's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
You don't need an FFL to ship a rifle. If you are selling it then you may want to use an FFL Holder for the transfer for CYA but you do not have to. -
Reminder Turkey Seminar Tonight 4/2at Mesa Sportsmans 6PM
PRDATR replied to Little Creek Calls's topic in Turkeys!
I came in a few minutes late (I thought it started at 6:30) and was able to stay for about half of the seminar but I did purchase a box call which sounds great. The seminar was well presented and informative. I'm looking forward to making this my primary box call and retiring the couple of others I have purchased over the years. -
My apartment complex wants to charge $$ for overnight guests. Is that legal?
PRDATR posted a topic in The Campfire
The manager taped a new list of "Rules" to my door sometime yesterday and I was going over it today. All the usual stuff and it looks like it was more of a reminder to the tenants about things like no washing cars in the parking lot, where to park, no mechanical work yada, yada yada. But they also include the following: Overnight guests as limited to two (2) nights only. Additional nights will be assessed $10.00 per day, per person. Heck, I'm one person in a two bedroom patio home in Mesa and while I realize the unit probably has a max occupancy of about 5 people and if someone moves in I have to added them to the lease I can imagine if a relative comes for a visit for a week or a long weekend that they can charge me more on top of my rent I already pay. They want me to sign and date they new rules but I am going to pass until I can see if they can do this. Anyone care to share some comments about just the legality or where I can turn for some assistance from the City or maybe even the Attorney General? -
I'd settle for one tag. It looks like I will be putting all my energy to an OTC tag in Colorado.

No Doubt, if you're into that sort of thing. Personally I've got more pressing things to do with my time.

Pointless drivel. I'd rather cut off my left testical or watch paint dry. MEN don't watch crap like that.

Very cool. No easy feat to say the least.

I believe it is more of yielding to the faster vehicle regardless if you are doing going under, at or over the posted speed limit at least that is what I have been told by the police. There may not technically be a "fast lane" anymore but we have all heard the term and as well as seen the many signs that say SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT. So with that said if you are going 10 over and a vehicle comes up behind you going 20 over you are now the slower vehicle and obligated to yield if there is a lane to move to. No sense playing sentinel of the highspeed lane it's just a courtesy thing for me, same thing if I am driving at 15MPH on a two track and someone comes up behind me obviously going faster and wanting to pass.

I have never been charged and used to do it all the time flying to New Orleans. The one I have is about 6" in diameter and adjusts in length. I usually have it set about 6' long but in order to cut down on my airport time I now just leave a rod there and just bring reels.
