Prickly pear syrup and jelly
AzDiamondHeat replied to My Rights As An American's topic in Cooking Wild Foods
Probably nailed it. They were pretty ripe. Maybe I just had incorrect expectations as to the juice taste too. I will try again. I hate flying blind. Lol. Thanks for the input. -

didnt even get that far. The juice itself just smelled and tasted bad after juicing. Tried several different methods of juicing. Some worked better than others but all tasted and smelled bad. Am I missing something? Is that just the way it is supposed to be? As good as the fruit tastes I couldn't believe the juice was so different. -

I completely suck at being at being a pioneer wife. Collected a ton of pears yesterday and went through all the proper steps and my juice tastes like crap. It actually tastes like stink bugs. No idea what I am doing wrong. Going to collect some more and try again. -
What method(s) do you use to help find downed animals when you are by yourself? Lets say you shoot across a canyon, knowing you have a good hit and a downed animal, how do you get yourself to THAT spot efficiently to start your search? This is of course assuming there are no power lines use as a point of reference....

Nobody has stated it is complicated or daunting. I only asked as a point of conversation. Oh look, a conversation about a hunting topic! You're welcome.
