what rife/caliber do you have already they may work better than you think. long range deer or elk , rifle weight is and advantage.

re read thread . this is a rifle for the kids to shoot deer/elk? . do you reload?

I like leupold. I prefer a 40 mm unless I am getting a 30mm tube. the 300 win in that light of rifle is quite a bit if recoil, I would think as a bow hunter you would use the bow for elk. I would get a smaller caliber for deer than the 300mw.

a rem 700 sender0 with a Krieger barrel in 6.5-284 or .264 win mag. a weatherby accumark in .257?

you do not say if you reload. the rifle/barrel is more important than the cartridge. I would pick the one that will shoot a 5" inch group ( or less) at 500 yards. if you are talking about a factory rem 700, since they do not offer a 6.5-284 I would say a 25-06.

Remington 700 long range? caliber??

for factory ammo I would start with 140 berger by hsm if they offer it.

Remington is making senderos in .264 and 25-06 again. just not .257 wby.

Ernesto- envious. my mark v is not shooting that way yet.

my brother has an 8.5 twist krieger, it shoots the 140's awesome. the original one he had had a 9 twist , the 130's shot good. the addition speed makes up for the bc.
