load 50.5 of varget behind a 168 berger or 168 CBT. or 167 scenar. lapua brass. 210m . 030 off the lands. - adjust the trigger. -make sure your scope is capable. by the way remington just came out with an inexpensive long range rifle in 30-06.

I would say fit is important. a brake will help especially if you go with the 7-08. i normally say a .243, unless you are going to hunt elk a lot and have nothing he could use in the case that he get s drawn for that. .

any one bag one or see one this fall??

Elkaholic- i need to talk to lance here in flag. But , 70000 rifle deer hunters, thousands of rifle pig hunters, archery deer andjavelina hunters................. not one confessing to taking a feral hog in the past year. they must be pretty scarce unless you go to unit 13 ro bullhead city.

most on longrangehunting use H-1000. the most accurate bullets out of mine are 140 berger, 140 accubond and 168 berger. i have not tried the new long range accubonds yet.

i use 72.5 of re-22 and a 210 berger. WLRM. lapua brass. 030 off the lands. in my sendero.

looking to learn from a successful predator hunter

I do not understand about fur friendly stuff. how much is an average coyote hide worth? I do believe Scott has made a great choice in picking a 22-250. roninflag -

MT-- 1, call here there are a Lot of coyotes AND call where they have not been called. 2 - don't miss. Scott i called in my first coyote when i was 11. i have killed over 250. PM sent. ron -
it does not seem they exist, let alone are becoming a problem.

hsm factory ammo loads are loaded with berger bullet which are great for long range. i do not use a bipod it induces to much errror. in shooting competiton - using a bipod is harder than off of a sand bag and pedistal.

killed a bunch with cci stingers

there are a lot fo good ones...... a factory load with a 168 CBT bullet is what i would use.

long range rifrle = remington sendero. all around rifle - sporter weight = either
-
Tdub- gun writers made a living discussing the 30-06- 280- 270 which is better. the 284 is a great round equivalent to any of those. midway graf and others should have some brass.

Hunt- what a tremendous bear! what rifle/caliber /load ect??

New Remington 700 in 7mm RM
roninflag replied to khmer6's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
you do not say what you are shooting. sounds like a great buy. mine both shoot great. just adjust the trigger and load some good ammo. a 140 berger or balistic tip, a 139 hornady btsp or a 168 berger. -
Awesome! what rifle? caliber? approx score? beautiful ram.
-
rn- I don't have a probelm with the weight of the rifle. 8.5 compared to 7.5 for mag sporter is not much to me for what you get. being careful on the scope and the scope mounts can save some.

all my magnum senderos have a vais brake. one has a jewell trigger. two have shilen. my 7mm mag has a krieger barrel fluted( 318 plus 95 for flutes and 150 to chamber and thread). Is it a lot more acurate than the other one ? Not that much. i have more confidence in it and shoot it more. less finicky to load for. the stainless fluted ones are light enough for me . having shot competition heavier is better. if i want to go light i carry a different rifle.
-
the barrel is too short . so you should sell it to me. pics please, preferably with a deer or elk too. remington can tell you all about just e-mail them.
