WBY- does it sound like he would pay the $$$ for nosler ammo? 308nut - the reason MIchael can write that stuff is because he has literally worn out several 308s getting that knowledge. i was hunting bear in 4a today. the snow is deep and colder than alaska. prowler- if you go to rifleman journal you find that the 30-06 is a very good long range cartridge. of course there are virtually no factory guns and no factory ammo competing. get a sendero in the caliber of your choice. or get a remington 5-r 300 wm.

WELKER- I have shot competitively also. i shoot a 6.5-284 (2) both hunting and comp. my brother has a factory .264 sendero and two 6.5-284s also. i like lapua brass my self. there is a guy on 6mmbr. shoots win brass out of his 6.5-284 he and his family win i would not come close to what he does in competition. the 6.5-284 does nor feed real good. the krieger barrel is the BIG key to accuracy. i would build a .264 and use winbrass. i did not do that becuase i already had a 17 pound match rifle and decided to add a sendero weight hunting rifle.

until you shoot it you will just wonder. whether you are talking about a 243, 270 or 30-06 many others. the cartridge is capable. the rifle/load /scope and shooter is/are the question mark. i shoot a 6.5-284 very similar to a 270. the rifle load and scope are very capable.

the one that shoots the best group at 300,400 and 500 yards.

i have been calling for a long long time and never remember 27 ever closing. the annual limit in the regs is 25 . 11 for the genral season. call the azgfd and find out more.

First- what is the date of their hunt??

YOUNG-bears are scarce in the units with the densest populations. i suggest a different unit for you to "try" to hunt than 20a. 22 and 23 , 27, 3a,c,b,. 25 and 26.

RUFF- I like it. can't wait to see what you get with it.

once you scare them they go over two mountians. where they live is very steep and they are comfortable and confident there. my brother says the the trophy is in the back half???

DESERTbull- i like that rifle. get a rifle like that -the caliber is secondary.

for me the gun is more important than the caliber. if not a pre garcia sako then a rem 700 with a krieger barrel. i have two 6.5-284 and i like them. i shot a coyote 423 yards last january.

my foreman has a rem 770 243 with scope and box of ammo for $250 . FTF near 20st and bell. pm me i will give you his cell.

for me the gun is more important than the caliber. i like a brake on any magnum.

i like a softer bullet for coues especially. a 165 or 168 balistic tip or CBT. i would use varget or I4064.

I have a sako mannlicher 30-06 for sale. it is item number 250090002 on gunbroker. no reserve. a nice rifle for deer bear and elk.
