Woke me up, thought one of my kids had fallen down the stairs...

Giant bear, It sure is fun sitting over bait and watching 20+ bears in a few days. I hunted it once 4 years ago and never pulled my bow back, but only because I was looking for a slob like yours. Great job.

If taken care of bear is one of my favorite game animals...all the fat needs to come off since it is bitter.

These are the last few years. Its only been on Memorial Day 1 time. Almost always the 2nd or 3rd weekend in May. The Ellsworths do a great job in hosting this event, great time for sure. http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/57430-shed-antlerfest-2015-may-22-24/?hl=antlerfest http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/48114-shed-antlerfest-2014/?hl=antlerfest http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/40013-antlerfest-2013/?hl=antlerfest http://www.coueswhitetail.com/forums/topic/31997-2nd-annual-az-antlerfest-its-time/?hl=antlerfest

Anyone hunt Bears in Alaska?
WHT_MTNMAN replied to Big Browns's topic in Black Bear or Grizzly Bear hunts
It would be a great hunt for sure but quite expensive vs other bear options. Ive only been to AK 2 times but both times the trqvel far exceeded my estimations. -
Arrow speed and long range shooting
WHT_MTNMAN replied to Pac8541's topic in Bows, arrows, broadheads
I would always practice and shoot out as far as you can. It really does make 40-50 yard shots seem like a walk in the park... -

I've never drawn the rifle but have helped a few times, I've been there archery hunting for probably 10+ years. I was not impressed with the rifle hunt, too much pressure with very few quality bucks..you will see bucks for sure and hopefully a few good ones. Good luck!

I was lucky enough to be invited for a few days to fish a couple weeks ago in WY, We have a great time every year and catch some very good fish. This year the fish seem to be a little better than last years fish. Couple pics. Lots of color and great kype

If you think you are a better hunter because you wear Kuiu, First Lite or Sitka you have it all wrong. That being said Sitka and Kuiu are some of my favorite hunting clothes and since I hate the stigma of being a "trendy bowhunter" I personally choose to wear most of the solid colors. I have shot elk, deer, turkey at close range while wearing a kuiu jacket and camo vest. They didn't care that it was a solid color. To me it is about weight and quality of clothing. You can not knock the comfort until you have tried it. I will not wear expensive pants during Coues rifle hunts though, Double front Carhartts for me.

I haven't looked specifically at the VAP and some one may correct me but for the most part Gold Tips are the only true Carbon arrows, others can have a slight amount of an amalgamation and can flex and bend and not remain straight. Almost all other arrows I've looked at including carbon arrows by easton and carbon express etc... have other materials besides carbon.

I shot the axis and Acc's for many years and really liked them, but since I make a lot of my own arrows, I've found the Gold Tips to be very adequate and easier to insert, fletch etc than the axis. I would stay with GT's unless you just want to try new things.

Another great year getting together with friends. Lots of birds seen, some passed, some missed and some great BBQ.

Anybody that knows me knows that I rarely get excited about anything...not that I don't have an absolute love for hunting, shooting etc...I just do not yell, scream or even act happy sometimes... I feel like I calmly get the job done every time...well this video shows that even though I'm not excitable on the outside the inside can be torn to shreds... First shot was about 50 yards...2nd and third at least 40 yards. . As he stood there he had drops of blood falling from his head and neck, I assumed at anytime he would just fall over. I don't like to be made a fool but it was a unique enough video I figured I would share in all of its uncut glory.

We were in Eastern KS, My buddy has a farm West of Lansing/Leavenworth. At the risk of making fun of myself, here is the GoPro Video of the hunt. It takes almost 9 min for the bird to come in, so fast forward to the 9min mark. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nMXpFR-LeCo

Judging main beams and mass, fronts that go straight out vs sweep down and out ...less than 350. I have a late season archery bull with 27 and 25" thirds and 52" beams that goes 340

Seriously??? You want a company or Dr that advertises and uses Groupon to cut into you eye?????...get some good references and pick an established Dr... Your eyes shouldn't be given to the lowest bidder...
