this is copied from the latest fishing report from azgfd. will it help the gizzard problem or compound it? I just wonder how it will affect the other fish species... smallies, crappie, bluegill... if at all. I bet the monster flathead gorge on those gizzard shad. James This coming Thursday, March 27, is the next meeting of the Gila County Roundtable meeting with AZGFD. You may have heard that AZGFD will be stocking Roosevelt Lake with Florida strain bass within the next two months. They also are working with several government agencies and businesses to place artificial habitat in this lake. Both of these activities are aimed at minimizing the impact of the gizzard shad that have increased dramatically over the past few years and are having a major impact on other fish species in the lake. AZGFD has stated that these roundtable meetings are attended by the most people they have seen at meetings like these. We need to continue to attend in big numbers to keep the momentum to improve Roosevelt Lake fishing. Once again, the meeting is this Thursday, March 27 at 6 p.m. at the schoolhouse in Punkin Center. I hope to see many of our listeners there.

the answer to your question is no. you can sit a stand of oaks but can not pile up the acorns or any other bait, be it naturally grown or home made. salt and water only. if it was put out by a rancher for his cattle then you can sit whatever it is he put out. mineral licks are ok because they are salt based and apparently the don't make the animals congregate... cause you know it's all about disease. so they do nothing well?? nothing they do benefits the habitat or the animals??? there is no way they can make everyone happy............ i wish that they would post on the same day they mail out tags. good luck hunting! James

IMAG0146.JPG Would you consider this abandoned? TJ Definitely not...LOL. We always put our name & # on our game cameras. Maybe people with corn feeders should do the same not defending... but I know some one that had 1 in 6a and didn't have a cam on it ( 6A nut knows who I'm talkin about) this was like 3 years ago. I don't know exactly where it was but from his story it was near Apache maid on the west side. He's about as unethical as they come and probably left it there.. James

before baiting was made illegal I tried a lot of things from salt to corn, cracked corn, oats, flavored salt licks with buck jam, and many other products. the best thing I had ever used was a 25lb block a friend gave me, it was a mixture of grains and corn with a strong smell of molasses. can't remember who made it.... stealth cam or 1 of those. this thing brought ALL the critters. from squirrels to bears, tons of turkey and big bucks.when you were down wind you could smell the molasses really strong, almost noxious. here are some pics. still didn't mean a for sure kill. takes more time than a weekender can commit, but I enjoyed the pics and had high hopes. if it was about disease they would have made baiting illegal period, regardless of big game, small game non game. this article tells it better than I can, but basically when there testosterone levels drop the process starts. some can drop earlier than others do to some bucks ( the ones I've seen are usually bigger more mature bucks ) still rutting the does that didn't breed when they go into heat again. ( I think I read somewhere the younger bucks don't know how to pace themselves during the rut and there process is shorter.) I've seen coues deer still packing in late may early june and I have found coues sheds in early april. http://www.deeranddeerhunting.com/deer-shed-hunting/how-do-bucks-shed-their-antlers James

Anyone recognize this tree stand and Camera?
JLW replied to Bownut98's topic in Bowhunting for Coues Deer
Why not hunt there??? Explain please, just curious He can totally legally hunt there. But its kind of nice if you run into a mans favorite spot to leave it to him and get your own. There's plenty of land to hunt in az. I would leave it be and hope a man that finds mine would also let it be and think "wow, that guy has a good spot. maybe if he moves outta here some day I might use it". No worries, its just not how the world works anymore, but part of hunting is the adventure of finding new things and making stuff happen on your own. Not squatting a spot that is obviously being used. so all I have to do is hang a stand and a camera to claim a "spot" in the public forest?? heck yeah! looks like he found a spot he wants to hunt. the guy's stand could be for bear, deer, elk, here is a concept, when you are done hunting take your stuff with you. I don't mind cameras but the treestands that are up for years on end does not make that spot theirs! he can't possibly hunt 365 days a year otherwise he would have ran into him sitting in the stand. I would leave a note, if he's cool he won't mind and probably share info with you ( like shedhunteraz) if he's a prick about it call the forest service so they can have it removed and add it to their collection. my guess is 23N James Thanks for making my point. Yeah, ask him if you can use it and if not, call the forest service to take it down to punish him. That's the way to handle it. Things are only ok if were the ones reaping the benefits. As mentioned the world has moved from respect and kindness to extreme narcissism. he didn't want to ask to use the stand................... and he definitely doesn't need permission to hunt that spot james -

ok, starting to get close to Snapping! looking for health insurance and this is not going well................... $500 a month for my wife and myself.......................... coverage description is shady $10,000 deductible...............uh ok $5,000 per person per year $12,000 out of pocket per year........ $6,000 per this is the cheapest that is offered to us.... so far Copayments/Coinsurance:A copay is a fixed amount (for example, $15) you pay for a covered health care service, usually when you get the service. The amount can vary by the type of covered health care service. Coinsurance is your share of the costs of a covered health care service, calculated as a percent (for example, 20%) of the allowed amount for the service. You pay coinsurance plus any deductibles you owe. For example, if the health insurance or plan’s allowed amount for an office visit is $100 and you've met your deductible, your coinsurance payment of 20% would be $20. The health insurance or plan pays the rest of the allowed amount. Primary Doctor: 40% Coinsurance after deductible Specialist Doctor: 40% Coinsurance after deductible Generic Prescription: $20 Copay after deductible ER Visit: 40% Coinsurance after deductible So the way this reads is I pay 100% til I reach my deductible???????????????????????????????????????????? now this lady in my shop says she pays only $24 for her and her son qualifies for .... wait for it........ ACCHS mind you she's married and I'm pretty sure she's not reporting both incomes. I'm not paying for someone else to have insurance.... I'm not rich nor do I make a lot of money. this is redistribution of wealth and is the definition of SOCIALISM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! they can kiss my AZZ! if there is something I'm not getting please let me know. AAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! James

your correct, we are not. I'm not sure if the healthcare exchange (obummercate) works like a standard plan or not? Or if JLW has had insurance or not recently? I was just giving insight on how our plan works. it has been some time since I had insurance and it was as you have stated.... this is wayyyyyyyy different. I'm not locked in just yet, but I'll be damned if I pay for something I can't use! if you read my og post it is copy and pasted from their website. what does 40% after coinsurance mean?? James

NMGFD almost as crooked as AZGFD. . still lots of ground for them to make up though.
