I have the still call, works pretty good. I mostly use the randy anderson stuff, made by primos. I like the raspy coaxer.... has the little squeaker I think when you flip it around. do they have any howlers?? James

as long as it's not down pouring! if it is then I guess still hunt into the bedrooms. I had deer, turkey, javelina all come in while it was raining off and on a couple seasons ago while sitting a tank. missed 2 shots in 1 day! awkward shot out of the blind is what I'm blaming that on. LOL! that tore me up! James

if you are just looking to get started cheap... anything that breaks up your outline will work... I have some old video of a guy in jeans and a plaid shirt put a stalk on a whitetail with a recurve and actually gets to 20-25 yds and the buck ducked the arrow. also a ton of Fred Bear videos and I can't remember him wearing much camo. I would suggest getting some of the unscented wash for your clothes. look at some of the guys that call coyotes..... what I have done over the years is 1 piece at a time... a shirt here, when on sale, a pair of pants there, when on sale. you can kill animals with out camo, I think we all gain a bit of confidence when we wear camo... plus it looks cool as heck! good luck! I had some in my home at the beginning of the summer and the guy at Ace recommended this white powder stuff.... not sure of the name but I'll check for ya. It put those ants down! I really didn't notice any odor from it. Put some on a little ant hill outside and they were gone the next day! I had to take 1 of my cameras down cause the ants ruled the tree! ants in the tree would make it hard to sit still........... LOL! James

you are correct, when they meet the annual harvest..... any how any way. they tell you when you call if they met the harvest limit and they tell you if they met the annual limit. you just have to listen closely cause she will spew off a bunch of units for the limits and annual limits... James

Scooter, lot's of places to camp for that hunt. you can find spots to glass or sit trails/water depending on rain/snow your style of hunting. I know you deer hunted there last year so you know what your dealing with there. I have seen snow and cold early, seen 80 deg. too should be cool enough that you won't have to rush gettin it out. should be a processor near so I wouldn't worry too much about cooler for your monster elk! I'm sure some go bivy style for more secluded hunt, if that is your style plenty of trails to get your seclusion on. If your doing freeze dried I have no help for you as I have only done short trips. Payson is close and I would bring a few days of food and make a trip to payson to stock back up and break up the monotony that can become frustration sometimes. I wouldn't count on other people but if your in a bind you can call me I'm 90 minutes away. 480-212-3670 James

+1 to that comment. It's the responsibility of any individual who understand the worth of fur to attempt to educate those who do not. Whether or not they listen is their own business. General acceptance of moral grandstanding all depends on the topic at hand. If I made a post about shooting a mule deer with an under-calibered rifle I'd get chewed out by the masses on this forum, but someone who wastes a natural resource like fur just for the thrill of the kill is given a free pass all because 'it's legal'. What your doing is legal - I apologize for critizing your hunting activities... But when you go get mariied to one of ur same sexed hunting pals - PLEASE POST IT ON HERE SO WE CAN HAVE A GOOD LAUGH! this is the crap that doesn't need to be on here..... and pretty sure you know that mr. high and mighty! get off your soap box.......... look in the mirror to see the JACKWAGGON! have fun with your vibrafinger! on another note how about taking out some of the coyotes that feast heavily on the fawns??? I'm sure the survival rate goes up when you take out some of the killers! how about in some of the antelope areas where the survival of fawns is very low to none?? what time of year do the drop??. coyotes can have upwards of 12 pups... if deer and antelope were like that it may be different you could shoot coyotes every day and still not make a dent! cats may be a different story...... but there is no limit on how many trappers or hunters can take probably cause there is no way to estimate the population.
