I killed my first mule deer ever in 2009. It was just a small two point in velvet. I didn't know what I wanted to do with it so I threw it in the freezer (chest Style) and forgot about it. It stayed in the freezer for about a year but I never did anything other than wrap it in plastic bags and tape it up tight. The Velvet still looks as good today all the day I threw it in the freezer. Never had any issues with slippage or any smells.

This is my first elk hunt (my tag) and I was wondering if the pressure from the rifle and muzzleloader hunt going on right now will make a big difference in the quality of the hunt. I'm super pumped and I know I have an awesome time either way I'm just looking to hear a little feedback on what you guys think.
