I must just be lucky. The last few months I’ve been in 19a 21 20b 20c 34a and 18b. Saw a ton of gambles.

With fresh snow I would try to cut a fresh bull track or glass a remote canyon before I sat a meadow. if your not seeing movement you might check a diferant area. This is elk moving weather.

Teens at night would be one thing. I’m thinking teens during the day and complete whiteout with 6ft of snow and 191 closed at hanigans meadow for the season. January in the white mountains at 9000ft. Bring snow shoes and/or a snowmobile.

You’ll find deer there but you might bring an igloo.

I don’t know any one who glasses (main mode) with a spotter. Most pull out the spotter to take a look at something they saw in their binos.

If it were me I take one set of binos. Late season elk stick out like a sheet of plywood. And if you can’t see antlers your too far away to do anything about it any way. Like stated about they get pushed up to 10-11k. But they are not off limits there. You can still go up there and kill them. snow. Snows great it makes sign easy to find and read. Also it take a foot is snow to “push” elk down.

Just goes to show. There’s no “best”. Every ones different. I have kenetrek insulated and non insulated. I hike enough that they each get re-soled every other year.
