I use them also. I hear a slight whistle. It's normal for any vented fixed blade to make some noise. If it really concerns you shoot a g5 montec. They make the slick tricks sound very quiet.lol. I've hit coues deer mule deer elk and javelina with a slick trick and none of them knew what was happening until impact.

If I were you I would expect to have a really really good time.

I have it in my head I could put together a savage short action with a .308 parent round ( 308win 243 6.5cm) on a mdt chassis with a z3 and be under 7lbs I have an encore pro hunter with a 26in 300wm barrel and a large 30mm Leupold scope that's 8lbs 2oz.

3 or 4 boxes? That would last me 30-40 turkey hunts. I originally bought two boxes of 10 shells each. After 3 hunts and 3 birds, I still have 17 left. Turkey hunting isn't like dove hunting. makes my head hurt just think about that many shots of 3.5 mags

If my memory is correct my guns happy with federal copper plated #4 with their flight control wad in a 3.5in mag. You should get to one of the many free turkey seminars......and ignore anything you hear from an eastern turkey hunter. The Arizona hunt is complete diferant.

Just so I understand the question your getting a sd of 150fps(velocity spread of 300fps) and your groups shooting less than 1/2 inch at 100yards?
