I went out today to a new area to call coyotes and to take the m4 I just built on it maiden hunting trip. I sighted it in last weekend with 60g hornady vmax. I set the call about 65y away in a wash bottom while I set myself up high on the bank. I played lighting jack for about 20s and out of the middle of the wash I caught movement. I let him come in to about 5y of the call and I missed the first shot. He then ran about 20 more yards and stopped so I let him have it. I was not thinking that I set the eotech at 2in high at 100y. On a side note I've been using vmax bullets for a while now in 243win(6mm) 75g and they are quite lethal. But in 223 and 60g oh my goodness. This is by far the more graphic wound I've ever seen. And if any one is wondering my 20rd pmag is blocked internally to only accept 4rd.

I was about to be in that situation saturday morning. at day break I could hear hounds in the direction I was glassing. They were getting closer and closer untill they where silent.

i went on my first bear hunt over the weekend in 21. i was with a group of guys who know 21 well and are experienced 21 bear hunter but we cam up with nothing. aside from glassing for hours we checked 10+ tanks for sign and put 60 miles on my quad and nothing. but we also could not find any acorns at all. very very few prickly pears had fruit and almost no juniper berrys. i did on the othe hand have a blast hunting with some new friends exploring new areas. we did see some beautiful bulls, a ton of deer and a flock of turkeys. ill be heading back out this weekend to try again solo, i dont know where or what my strategy will be but im defiantly heading back out. any one else get out last weekend??

I know but it keeps me focused and restrained. Other wise id likely start sending poorly placed shots rapidly. Lol

I cant figure out why peole can leave other peoplea stuff alone. I saw 3 cameras this weekend. I offered all three a friendly wave and moved on.

I was in a big lube truck heading east on 202 near priest. You passed us.

I use accubonds exclusively. And they all leave "more than usual" copper fouling. Ive had good luck with t/c's T17. And birtchwood nitro cleaner.cleaner. Also ive never noticed a differance in accuracy with or with out the fouling leave in there.

243 has killed atlot of deer. Any bullet in 100g would be just fine.

I was wondering if anyone have any experience calling fall bears. I've heard calling is a productive method I have not heard about calling during the October 5 through December 31 season

I will have a tag in each pocket and a gun in each hand. I will be using a fox pro so atleast if any thing sneaks into the sound it will be away grom me. Im pretty exited. If for nothing else than to get out in the hills.

I may not fill my hi cap mag while coyote hunting for example but 5 rd ar mags are outrageous. Im still waiting to lift the suppressor ban while hunting. I would love to hunt coyotes suppresed.

Thats how ive been doing it the last few years. My only complaint with my old day pack is now that i have a set of 15' is alittle cramped.

Thanks for the info guys I am getting really excited I will be going out for my first time with some very experienced bear hunters Glassing and spot in stock I was thinking after the first trip I could branch out alone And try to do some calling. I am going stir crazy because I Killed a deer opening day of archery season I donated my rifle tag And the next time I get to help on Is a late cow tag. I've been out calling coyotes but it is still too hot to scratch the itch.

I thinking ill get tge maun beam. Full curl looks nice but i have a standalone frame pack with a shelf that I could put the main beam on 2 Hall something heavy plus the full curl is a lot more money.
