i guess. i bet that scope has a clearer picture that the tv does. we'll see how fast i can build my fund back up. thats the exact scope ive been wanting too, so it stings that much more.

i normally can get them pretty strait. plus this way i get to shoot a little more and i reload every thing i shoot. i would have got out today but we had a bday party for my daughter. mabey next weekend i can get out and atleast see if it will hold a zero again.

figures.... on wensday i wasted my scope fund on a new tv because mine when out. and now this for sale.

im hoping that its not permanently damaged. but ill have to wait and see.

i think i got the scope zeroed out in order to start over. the reason i say i think is a nikon prostaff 3-9x40 bdc has 80moa of adjustment. witch is 320 clicks total. i was unsure witch way i had went when i originally sighted it in so i went all the way up then all the way down. it has 420 all the way up to all the way down. i counted them 3 times. after my initial confusion i when all the way up and then 210 down. ill guess ill bring extra ammo when i try to re sight it in.

the rifle was empty pointing in the opposite direction with the bolt removed. i left it seated on the tripod to let it cool down a bit before i put it away.

im a pan head guy, but if you do like the pistol grip type dont skimp, get the outdoors mans. the bogen while well made and rock solid its much harder to squeeze after an 15 min of glassing your four arm will hit muscle failure, or youll wind up looking like popeye on one arm. on the other hand the outdoorsman is effortless. the only resone i bring it out is i would hate to see you get the bogen because of price and have to hire help to squeeze it all day for you.

if you glass sitting down the vortex high country is worth checking out. i pretty stable until you extend the legs. but for $70 and lightweight it works good. i do not like tall tripods. im short and i glass sitting indian style.

the watusi do look cool. theres a guy down the road form me that has a dozen or so. when i first read the post i read walrus and scrolled down fast to my disappointment. if i had 300 buck i would be beating down your door for the quail and deer set.

"roadless- primitive- rattlesnake infested- wash board grand canyon lookin- evil killer lion, bear and wolf ridden" much better description. the reason i was asking if you found the whole body is i was wondering if a lion or a wolf got him.

i would guess hes talking about the blue range in unit 27 and if so its one of the few untouched areas in the state. its hard to describe exept by the word beautiful. its only problem is it has a population of Mexican gray wolfs. thats a good looking buck. was there any other reminisce of the deer around? and did you get a tom?

now that i think about it ill keep it either way, cause its on a light weight tripod my whole set up is geared toward backpacking. but the 128rc is not a ball head. its a fluid pan head. i still have the ball head that came with the tripod. its seems like a very good ball head but not ideal for glassing.
-
that plate is huge in comparison. i should have read this 2 weeks ago. i just bought my 128rc. with a vortex high country tripod, 20-60 nomad with an adapter for my vipers. im very impressed with the fluidity of the 128 but i could see how the smaller plate could be steady with binos or a spotter but a little shaky with 10lbs rifle on it. but it i decide to get the claw you may find a 128rc in the classified section. thanks for the info.

i see i was under the imprestion that all Manfrotto heads used the same plate. does any one have a pic of the 701/501 HDV style??
-
ive been lurking around a while and signed up a week or so ago. so i guess this is my first post. my question is with the claw the recommended head is 701HDV but i was wondering if the 128rc would work as well. i have the 128rc and i love it. i have seen both in person and there is very little difference between the two. the max supported weight is the same. i have never seen the claw in person. thanks in advance.
