So I gave it another go this morning. I quess I wasn't applying enough pressure on the blade. Got em all nice and sharp now. One thing I cant't figure out is serated blades and gut hooks. I heard that using the bottom of a ceramic coffie mug works. Anyone have any luck with that method?

Went shopping around today and she was drawn to a savage long range hunter in 7 mag. I think that's what we'll end up getting for her. We have a buck master 4.5x16 bdc off her old gun, but I think a vortex is in store for this if we get it.

I have talked my wife into not trying to repair her remington 770 7mm. We have another 7mm but she is wanting to get something different. I'm thinking 270wsm or a 7mmwsm. What do you think is a better round?

Ashurst is a good option. Everytime I go up there Mary is packed but Ashurst was slow. I was thinking big lake but I'm guessing it would be packed.
