I had the same scenario once, but I drew an early rifle Bull tag in unit one with only 3 points in 96. Did about 5-6 days self scouting and killed a 330 bull with just a buddy tagging along. I remember talking to a guide on the archery hunt while I was scouting. It was a real bad drought year ,and his words were you can get a 330 on Your own( not knowing what I was doing back then} or kill a 360 with him. Funny He was right on with the 330 mark. This year with 20 non res. points I should draw a tag and even now I know what I'm doing I'm still gettin a guide. No time to Scout but should be moving back down there by then. Turning 59 on Sept. 6th that will be my birthday present to myself. Chances at that age I will never have another early rifle bull tag. Easy decision for me ,I want a chance at a 370 type bull or better. Hope theirs been better moisture this year.. Oh Ya and did I ever say winters in N. Dakota suck big time. This is My 4th and I'm done...............BOB!

Don't remember,I had a deisel shop changing it. I think 5-20 or 5-30...............BOB!

7.3 I put 350k miles on it and was great till I moved to the cold here in N. Dakota. It didn't like it when it got -30 and that was with it plugged in to a block heater and huge cattepiller batteries.............BOB!

Can't believe 16 pages of hunters can't figure out their own odds. That tells me there are alot of dumb hunters which is good. That means they are probly not to smart of a hunter either ,and that leaves more animals for the rest of us. just a thought. Flatlander must be a good dude helpin Yal'l. Not callin everyone dumb, just sayin, God ,look into what your puttin in for if your not sure......BOB!

They should not extend the deadline. I am one lazy sob, and I put in plenty of time. No need to wait till lst day especially not having to put money up front. Aint no escuse unless You were stranded on Gilligans Island, and then the professor could even fix You up.........BOB!

My buddies in Az. have taken care of my honey holes the 4 years I been gone. I turned em all onto Turkey hunting and they got hooked 10-11 years ago. We then went to Oklahoma for Rio's, I got My Eastern In Pa. where I was born. My Buddies got their Eastern in Iowa where they were born. I got screwed 2 years ago they went to Mexico for Goulds as I got My passport 1 week to late to go. We will all go to Florida for Osceolla when I move back to Phoenix. That will be fun as thats the area I met My wife in 1978. Wanna see how its changed. Then I need My goulds.......BOB!

I put in for real last nite. No problem with system, I bought new lic. 2 weeks ago and it went thru no problem it showed my new lic. #. Now to get that cow tag after 19 years...........BOB!

Thats how Turkey hunting used to be years ago ,serenity. Not no more . Many hunters. I fear My honey holes will be gone when I get back to AZ...........BOB!

Didn't seem like many stories from N.Mexico this year. I am looking forward to hunting it again ,and maybee as a resident. When I leave N. Dakota oil field gonna try to haul oil in SE New Mexico so I can get residency and not Texas. Its been 3 years since I hunted 23. Coues or Mulleys ,lets see some photos or stories. If You are into Turkeys and want the North American Slam a Goulds is the 5th and last one after Eastern, Rio, Merriam, Osceolla. Get a Goulds and You accomplished it. Some folks are into All the different types of deer or quaill. Some ,Me included are into Turkeys.......BOB!

A lotta Folks that work for the different Goverment type of jobs ,do so cause thats all they can do. They couldn't do a real Job. Not all of them , but allot. You Guys out there that work GOV. jobs don't get mad. I said Allot not ALL. I have friends and many family members that do so I know. Fact I should as I am getting lazy in my old age. Last week I spent 3 different days, total of 7 Hours on phone with dot to get a 4-5 minute problem worked out(example).............BOB!

8 days ,I would say Your in the wrong area or unit. Good luck. About 15 Years ago I met 2 guys and dad from Flag. in 36c, they said it was about 19-20th year in a row down there. All with kills. I told them right where I had just seen pigs. Not like they needed help. I was only Deer hunting. As far as Me ,Iv'e only killed 2. One rifle then 1 archery and that was enough. Have helped others with archery.. At 58 killen em doesn't excite Me no more , I'M just good helpin or watching.Like others said all Ya gotta do is play the wind........BOB!

$ usually come into play. I had a cabin in Vernon had to sell to get in a bigger house in the valley when I had 3rd kid 20 years ago. Had land in New Mexico had to get rid of in the crunch 5 years ago. Third time around , I will just hang on to the cash and hunt all over the west. Hotels are cheaper unless You have lottsa cash........BOB!

I still like the idea of mandatory reporting on both hunts the way N Mexico does it..........BOB!
