Another picture that I downsized and got to fit.
-
75 yards when I took the pics and started asking who I was. 50 yards when I started videoing them with my phone. I may start bringing one of those repeating firearms with me. Wow they asked who you were? Maybe this group were "scouts" walking ahead of the group with the load? Usually when they see someone they beeline it the other way. These guys did not panic at all. I get the feeling this was not their first trip. They were strangely comfortable

One shot by all means you can share with whoever. Send me your email address and I will send you the better quality pics. BP does know of this location now. Fred

Walking the length of the baboquivari's from mexico to the Coyote mountains. Just Taking illegal immigrant trails along the reservation fence. Talking to a few border crossers they mentioned seeing some giant coues. I figure it should be about a 30 mile walk with some epic scenery and some really good hunting. I have been thinking about doing this for a few years now. January I will make it happen, I have one huckleberry that has committed to going with me.

I tentatively set the dates as 1/4-1/7. I have eight deer points and feel I am getting close to a strip archery tag, so it will take an epic buck for me to put a stalk on. This will be as much as a trip of exploration as it will be a hunting trip for me.

I'm cheating a little bit. Going in at Mile marker 14, along the southern border of santa margarita ranch and stopping at my family's property just to the east of the coyote wilderness along coleman road. According to the onx map app its about 27.3 miles.

Always careful.. the ones that make me nervous are the ones going back south.

I've used them all at one time or another in the white mtns. The two best in my experience are rusty's and Malapai meats in snowflake.

Helping out on an antelope this weekend I got distracted

Look for food. When the high stufff freezes they move. When it snows they move. I have that tag and depending on my amount of vacation time I like my chances very much of getting a large bull. The bull in my avatar is from a late season 3c archery tag.

Bad luck stocked to within 12 yards of this guy asleep. Thought I screwed up and scared him out of the area

The benefits of a smaller unit, I have a simple goal of seeing every antelope in the unit. Right now I am only looking at their top ends on up. they will put mass and length on in the upcoming months . Momentary distraction refocused lit Suburban antelope little bull from yesterday

I'm impressed you could see the antler on that one
