    RIP Eddie Van Halen

dang! One of the greatest of all time. Sad day.
  2. Used them for years and I have never had an issue. The only time I had a problem was when one rolled off the bench and the tip broke off when it hit the concrete floor.
  3. Look at the Lee case length gauges and trimmers. They are cheap, caliber specific and they can be chucked up in a drill for easy work. The nice thing about them is you don't have to worry about setting anything or a screw slipping and changing your length. Each and every case is trimmed the same every time.

    ? For the reloaders

All components are getting hard to find now. Brass for most calibers you really have to search for and powder is scarce to say the least and primers simply don't exist currently. I would say the sooner you get into reloading the better off you will be. Your ammo and your ability will be much improved. I would keep an eye out for a deal on a press and like said above get a good manual and read up on the process and get an understanding of what you are getting into and what you will need. The Sierra manual I think is the best.
  5. Located in Safford. I have for sale a like new pair of Steiner 20x80 Binoculars. The hinge screw on the pair that I have used for the last 10 years broke and Steiner sent me a brand new pair. These have only been used on a couple of scouting trips. Awesome glass that I would put up against anything out there. These are not as heavy as they look and are very rugged and reliable. I will include the pelican box if the buyer wants it. Asking $1300

    Savage model 16 build

This is the dream for everyone. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee no matter what bullet or caliber used. Just too many variables. All we can do as hunters is practice so that we can make the best shot possible.

    Savage model 16 build

Fairly certain Bell & Carlson makes a stock for that. Keep in mind that a Savage 16 is the same action as a 10, 11, 12 or 14. So any action that will work for a 10 will work as long as the screw spacing and feeding type are correct, ie staggered or center feed.

    Savage model 16 build

I have three different thoughts on this. First, You are shooting a magnum cartridge. The main benefit of a magnum for me anyways is more energy and less wind drift on target. That means a big heavy bullet to maximize the potential of all that extra powder your burning. Something in the 200 - 215gr range would be where I would want to be. Keep in mind though that Coues are very small and not very wide. A big heavy bullet may push right on through without doing much damage just because there is not a lot of resistance there to make the bullet work. Results of course will vary on shot placement, range and impact velocity. I assume this is kind of what you are running into now. My seconds thought is you obviously like speed. That being said a 155gr Sierra TMK has a BC very close to that of the 168gr Berger; G7 BCs of .238 and .254 respectively. The 155 can be fired at a much higher velocity and will undoubtedly provide more expansion on impact than what you are currently seeing and provide nearly identical wind drift and energy out to 700 yards or so. At 1000 yards the 155 will only give up roughly 3" more wind and 90 ft lbs of energy when fired just 100fps faster than the 168. My third thought is you say animals that have been taken but in the same sentence say the bullet isn't working properly. How many have walked away from the combo that you are shooting now? Whats wrong with sticking with it?

    22 LR build suggestions

I'm with Jim, I don't think I would spend the time or money restoring anything to be a truck gun. So many options available now to just buy one and throw under the back seat. I would look at any of the Marlin or Savage bolt guns or even one of the Ruger Americans all of which shoot really well for Sub $300 rifles. Or if you wanted a step up the CZ or the Tikka are really nice for the money. Personally, the CZ is too pretty to throw under the seat it needs a nice soft case and a place in the safe to know its loved.

    6.5 06 load data

The 6.5-06 and the 6.5-284 Norma have essentially the same case capacity. You can use 6.5-284 data which there is a lot more of for a starting point and go from there. H1000 and Retumbo which are near impossible to find right now work amazing in that caliber. H4350 and H4831sc will also work quite well but will be a bit harder on barrels and give up a bit of velocity.
