Was on a scouting trip 2 weeks ago for my upcoming archery hunt in 6A and found a nice buck with ~25 does... he was showing some rutting behavior....

Checkout my profile pic... taken in 6A rifle hunt in 2016... I drew the archery hunt this year... we'll see if they are still hanging out in the same general location.....

I just got through putting some $$ in accurizing my old hunting rifle. In determining the barrel twist rate I was surprised to discover that it is ~1:10.5 which is little slow for this caliber and especially if I want to use a heavier bullet. It appears that standard twist rates for 7mm REM mag are 1:9 through 1:10 for most popular rifle builders. Does anyone have this rifle in this caliber and/or is familiar with it? It was manufactured/made in 1987, I bought it in 1991 from a friend. If someone is familiar with it, looking to see what hand load you have devloped and/or off the shelf ammo that shoots well through it. I've taken many game with it so there is no question on its capabilities, I just want to push it accuracy to its best potential. Thanks!

Was planning on hunting the northern part but looks like a LOT of snow so plans have changed and will stay in the south. Good luck!

Yup, that is just south of the Blue Ridge community.

Moqui Draw/Canyon just south & east of the Blue Ridge community. There are several roads from the 87 that go in there. If you cruise the neighborhood there are a lot of whitetail around the cabins. If you can get a good vantage point in the canyon I'm sure you can turn up some coues.
