I like this style - keeps some extra shells handy. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Butler-Creek-Alaskan-Magnum-Rifle-Sling/734605.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Drifle%2Bsling%26x%3D10%26y%3D6%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=rifle+sling

Long time since I lived there, but I always love Flo's.

Do you agree with G&F forcing kids to take Hunter Safety???
Coach replied to Big Browns's topic in Youth Hunters
Absolutely, yes. -
Actually, it makes perfect sense if G&F is trying to increase hunter opportunity. ERB hunts run about 90% success as opposed to LRB being 20-30%. Every tag taken from ERB can put 3-4 tags in the LRB hunt without affecting the annual take. Hunt quality for the late crowd definitely would suffer. This kind of reminds me of what has happened to coues hunting during the rut. Using 24A as an example, there used to be 350 permits in late December. Now there's 50 or less and the remaining 300 got doubled and then some in earlier October/November hunts. So now you've got 700+ tag hunts early on where hunters are all over each other and the animals are hard to find and only the lucky few get to hunt the rut. That model has pretty much ruined 24A for me. I'd hate to see the same thing happen to Unit 1, 3a/c & 27 bull hunts.

Great mount. I loved reading the story of this buck and seeing him now on your wall, so well done is just awesome. Congrats again on a great buck and kudos to Weller's.

Bump. IMO, this is one of the best spotting scopes ever made.

Nice!!! He's got some serious spring! 6'4" at 14 - and still growing? And I thought my boys were tall - lol.

I think the first time I burned my hand by grabbing a door knob in my garage in Cave Creek - from the inside - was when I decided to live in the mountains and visit the valley in the winter.
-
That's awesome - seems the only cats I get are at night, and moving fast.
-
Very cool pictures. Love the gobbler and looks like the bulls are growing fast.
-
Sweet gun, does it shoot 3.5" shells?

Prayers sent.

Man - that looks awesome. My youngest has a cow tag in unit 1 though. My oldest son drew unit 1 archery bull second year in a row.

Happy Birthday fellow Gemini.

You guys rock! I spent the day working on a project - turning my back porch into a game room with a pool table, air hockey, etc.. This project started back in December but got side-tracked by the need to help build a new gym for my wife and her partner. Then came the broken shoulder, still coaching little league baseball, taking the boys turkey hunting - it's all coming together now. I can't throw a baseball yet, but I can hit to outfielders, coach my team, and God willing I'll be shooting my bow again this week. We had a great time today - my boys worked hard along side of me, Carrie made an amazing dinner and watched a great movie together. It was a very good day. Thank you for the Birthday wishes.

Looking at buying one. Anyone have real-world experience with them? I'm looking at the .40SW version.

I haven't bought or sold too much on here, but everyone I've dealt with has been great.

I saw an article on CNN where they were basically saying that life in the Florence, Colorado Supermax prison would be worse than death. This place is called ADX - for 'Administrative Maximum'. The argument was that he'd be on the appeals list for a long time if given the death penalty. So, for this guy, arguably the worst of the worst, he either has appeals and protection in a "regular" death-row prison, or gets to go to a prison where he has basically 3 to 1 guards, nurses, psychologists. We're treating this guy like royalty. IMO, he should be sitting in a 8x8 concrete cell, and have a pressure-cooker bomb go off in the middle of it. If he dies immediately, at least he's dead. If it takes a long time, he'll start to figure out what he did to other people

How long is powder good for?
Coach replied to joelpresmyk8's topic in Rifles, Reloading and Gunsmithing
I still have some powder around in the same canisters I used to watch my dad reload with when I was a kid. Even back then, it was military surplus and who knows how old. Maybe not the best for precision reloading, but like Lance says, it all still goes "bang". -
Nicely done! To you and Alyssa. Love the pics and the story - took a lot of dedication and I'm glad some folks on here helped with a unit you weren't as familiar with. What a great thread!

Years back, .22LR ammo was available in every sporting goods store, big-box store, hardware store, even gas stations. It was the most prolific, inexpensive, readily available ammo anywhere. $20 bricks (500 rounds) was pretty standard. Somehow, after Sandy Hook, it just mysteriously vanished. Some said it was just pure demand, but at the same time I heard reports that CCI, Federal and others were pumping out millions of rounds per week. It's only the hoarders who are keeping the supply low. Here we are years later. No national emergency. .223 can be had for around 24 cents per round, 7.62x39 even cheaper. There's still no .22 LR to be found. Cabela's, Wal Mart, Midway USA, get only a few now and again. So if it's just a few hoarders, where are all these millions of .22 LR going? My local Wal Mart had to make a sign that says "We have no .22 LR ammo". That sign has been there 2 years or more now. If the big box stores and major outlets aren't even getting it in, where is it going?
