I purchased a lot in Payson thinking I will retire there someday. I walked the lot twice last year and saw black rattlesnakes both times. I can only hope it does not turn out like Crotklauberis house Below is a juvenile black .

Great story and video. Good things always come to those who wait even if it was plan B. Now that you're back to nil for bonus points, you need someone to go complete plan A! Put your guide hat and backpack back on and sign me up for plan A !

Set out the camera over July 4th on a spring and picked up last weekend. At least 3 bears. Bears pushed this camera all around and just seemed to have a great time with it. Finally the camera stayed in this position facing away from the spring and lots of photos of squirrels and pretty sure another bear? ...and this pretty girl decided to get close the evening before i retrieved the cam. ,,,not Colorado without local giant that we will be chasing this fall

AGFD news Wildlife News - June 29, 2013

I really cannot understand what these people are trying to prevent with these regs. No bones in the meat, or meat on the skull. We now have to debone our meat and boil the skull prior to "importing" our meat, or spend the money to process it locally...and the cost of another trip to pick up the meat. Explain to me how we are going to transfer CWD to our state with our non-processed meat? Throw the meat out the window, let the grass absorb the virus and have the deer/elk eat the grass. Or throw the skull out the window? Why not ban the importation of hunting boots freshly used on a hunt? Seriously azgfd, explain this to me! -
My daughter wants to catch something besides trout, so we are planning a spring break fishing trip. Can anyone refer a guide for Striper fishing either below parker dam or on one of the lakes. Much appreciated

If you call it hunting or predator control you have to love the state of Texas. Imagine trying to do this PA or NY or even in AZ. Its not lame, it is all about private property rights, gun rights and the freedom to find a solution to a serious problem without having the goverment or some lefty minded individual tell you, you can't do that.

Who says you don't need more than 10 rounds to hunt!

Quail hatch has started
GreatWhiteBuffalo replied to GreatWhiteBuffalo's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
I saw some more walnuts week ago or so and finally managed to take a photo. I also saw some others in a nearby neighborhood. I do not believe they are a true "second" hatch but most likely mama lost the first hatch to another Urban Predator such as this creture that has been living in the back yard. -

Urban hatch has begun. Wife and I observed three hatches in the neighborhood this last weekend, with one hatch containing 12 "walnuts", of which our dog dined on one of them. No luck on getting a photo but we will keep trying. -
I am sure everyone who knows him also knows all about his real Character, thanks for letting the rest of us know. Coues Karma will take care of him. As for Mullins outfitters, a class act and I am sure your clients will hammer some new monsters this year!!

Guess the Score of this Nontypical buck
GreatWhiteBuffalo replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Contests and Giveaways!
116 4/8" -
I love smoked trout. It is the only way to eat the new stockers G&F places in the lakes. I have found the most important step is to brine the trout for 24hours. Leave the skin and head on. Do a low temp smoke for 4-5 hours. I have used hickory, maple, apple, and even mesquite and enjoyed all of them. It is a matter of taste.

More urban predation... Pool Baracuda ate one of little guys. Wite wing dove also fell prey to something, my bet is a hawk. -

I was in the front yard cleaning up the palo verde flowers and I see my neighbor chasing a chick and catching one with a big gulp cup! Urban predator strikes again. An hour late I catch three of the little guys coming thru the back gate. If this is the same clutch, then the survival rate is down to 25%. I was finally able to take some photos. looks like a male? -

I actually believe it will be an average hatch. We had early green up but with no follow thru. The problem is no cover for the chicks or abundant food will lead to high predation. The hatch I refered to the other day is down to 8 from 12, and yes our new dog this year ate another one.
