Just a little shy of his gearbox! -
I have a man crush on Robert, I was hesitate to drive out to him (more so when I pulled into a neighborhood!) but after hearing of guys (and family) driving from Queen Creek to him, I had to try. He will get all of my business, and hopefully will be stripping my bow down and rebuilding it soon for dipping. Hes a genuinely nice person, and isnt full of BS drama when you talk to him.

On the west side of 6A i couldn't hear them at all in camp, but a mile and a half behind our camps they were screaming their heads off all weekend. One wouldn't shut up all morning until about ten, and would start back up around three well past dark. The "herd" bulls aren't the big guys yet, and we were still seeing the big guys running solo.

Welcome! Congrats on the Antelope, have you posted a new thread with the full story yet?

rcdinaz, our that we've had for ever is just about potty trained! LOL He comes inside some days and crashes sprawled out in a bedroom or under a table, and then wants back out a few hours later.

Great job! I'm working on turning a bit of elk antler into a shaving brush handle.

Here, I've been watching this everyday at least a few times since I found out I drew! http://www.sitkagear...id=qQhzDYpAzsA= (I even hear elk bugling when the song playes on the radio! LOL) ETA: I get to go home this morning, fall asleep, and then work a simple six hour day tonight until midnight! w00T!!

I can't see the photos where I am right now, but do you think you could lock it in a vice and peen it into place with a punch?

I just want them to make cheap launchable GPS dongles so I can tag an animal while scouting, and track it later during the hunt!

I've packed twice, washed clothes, packed more, realized my Badlands pack weighed a TON so it got emptied and packed again! I've got a huge knot in my gut thinking of my final choices and what I should do Friday morning. Two more days at work!

New to Dove Hunting
BASS replied to chatcher's topic in Small Game, Upland Bird, and Waterfowl Hunting
Man, we used to hunt all over Eloy and Arizona City (quite a bit more north from you though) but last year I didn't see one single bird out there. If you can find any kind of new torn up fields hunt around them. Water, like Casey said, is usually a good idea also. I hate to say it, but the birds are kind of where they are! Ive hunted places that looked great! and had to scrape every bird I shot, other areas are in the middle of no where and had birds galore! Scout out a few spots, take some buddies to split the gas. Good luck! -
At SHOT Show last year I played with a "new" thermal/IR monocular that was about the size and weight of a can of soda. Even with all the bright flashy lights and other things iside the giant convention hall you could clearly see people walking around (crotch, feet, and pits were bright, and the beer in their hands cold and dark, pretty cool to play with!) With a letter from my agency I could have played with one on loan for the cool price of $5k for six months! The unit to buy was around $12K. With its 6X zoom I went from tactical to hunting thoughts almost imediatly. The thoughts of scanning a canyon in five minutes compared to five hours was/is tempting! But for fair chase, I don't think it should be allowed, game recovery perhaps but then again their usefulness would in that aspect would be rather limited.

Keep faith, it was a long weekend and there are still random vehicles parked throughout my neighborhood. Hopefully someone will get tired of it being parked somewhere or ask the neighbors and call it in. Ill keep and eye out though!

Whew! Glad it happened on a no name back road and not on the highways! Ill be the first to admit that I gate the one inch straps. Our quads always came loose on our trailers. Now, I only use the 2.5 or 3 inch vehicle straps. They hardly ever come loose! But being lazy (guilty) I usually only put one strap on my rhino all the way up front. During a roll over it'll come loose, but I have bigger issues then!

Whats BS is that over the weekend, there were two different camps with in about a hundred FEET from water holes. One was blocking the road that went by it, and riding into the water. We called FS, which was more or less their dispatch, and was straight up told that there were not enough officers to respond to that area, and that they were not sure that was even a law. ETA: Not to mention all these "closed" roads have been traveled so much in the past two weeks they look like highways again! I know you can not catch everyone, and you need to police yourself, but this whole thing is a BS money grab from people who have no idea what they are doing.

I'm all for revenge (akaspecials and I would probably get along well together!) but when both parties are wound up with weapons, and they have the high ground it won't end well for anyone. I'd move up a game trail from the stand, and hope that what ever was coming into water would use that trail first!

Oh wow, i've worked along side of Wade a few times at the Salt River. Never knew he was the one out there doing that rescue.

Video - Hail Storm, Turkey Footage and Coues Trail Cam Pictures
BASS replied to jamaro's topic in Coues Deer Hunting in New Mexico
Man, those birds sure are ugly! I still want to stick one though! Cool video, thanks! -
I was always told not to give dogs "cooked" bones. They said it would make the bone splinter? Anyways, my dogs always seem to like the ones laying around camps, and antlers a lot more than they should!

I have friends I work with who rifle hunt down there. In addition to their hunting rifles, they pack ARs and side arms. Who knows, it might have been them, they were down there last weekend scouting for a hunt. I don't know why they like it so much down there, they never tag out, and like I said, they ALWAYS have an AR near them while hunting, cooking in camp, and sleeping. I mean, I take my AR with me when I go anywhere alone up North or down South, but it sits in the truck, and near the bed. I did hike with it in 6A a few weeks back because I found a tore up camp, and a few furtilizer bags that were in the middle of nowhere shoved under a log and I didn't want to walk into a grow operation!

Man, over the weekend was BAD! I got up there Friday and got nailed in the storm. My poor two wheel drive tahoe was slipping and sliding all over the place!
