That's was me out scouting for the dec hunt. Saw the ford when I left but not the dodge.

Glassed some bulls up opening morning and put a stock on them but they feed over the ridge by the time I got into range. I found some more bulls on another ridge. Worked my way over the them and jump one out of his bed. I ran after him and saw him running up the next ridge over. I pulled up my 7mm and dropped him in his tracks at 3 pm. I started working on him and my hunting party(packers really) showed up around 5pm. We got him quartered up and packed out a some meat that night, got back to camp at 10pm, headed back up to him Saturday morning, boned him and packed him out. It was my first elk hunt and my first bull and I am very happy with him. I want to thank Adam (Big Browns) for meeting up with me and showing me some spots in the unit and I hope to help him with his Dec coues hunt down here. This is the only pic I took because I want to get as much done before it got dark on me. He was a 5x5 but one point is broke off.

Zbar I think you got me confused with somebody else. I ate my bear tag this year and my wife is stuck on a trophy hunt so in about ten years she will get her unit 1 early hunt but thank you for the congrats.

If your staying near the lake the next road east of the lake,south lake rd, I get reception for Att. It's spotty on the back side for all carriers but verizon seems to be the best. If you head south into the flats I always get service or up on a hill.

That is the best looking javi mount I have seen. Makes me want to get one mounted now!

Ya they were 60 grains of H4831, max is 62 for the 130 grain bullet I believe.

I have the same set up on my remington 700 .270 and I used the talley one piece in the low size but I would order the med. The low's rub a little when you change the magnification. The rings are around 40 bucks and I got mine on amazon. I also bought the Harris S25C bipod, its tall enough that you can use it sitting down or in the prone position. It also tilts but you can lock it so it will be stationary as well. I like my set up for my .270, I bought the turrets for the HS and they dial out to 675. Turned em to 425 and shot my buck last year right in the lungs.

I got drawn for elk so I am getting rid of a few item so I can maybe get a new rifle. I have these 12x50 are in great condition and have the best warranty around with Vortex. I only used them last season. They come with the original box and Vortex bag. Bought new for 1200, looking for 800. I am in Tucson would prefer a FTF but willing to ship.

How is that Conquest HD? I have been looking at the 5-25.
