One last price drop before they are ebay bound. I will sell the binos without the tripod and adapter. -

What's a good bino power for the woods?
twigsnapper replied to coatimundi01's topic in Optics and tripods
8's all day for archery hunting elk. 8's are very steady and easier to hold with one hand if you have your bow in the other hand. Is your tag archery or rifle? -

I'd prefer to sell as package. -
I have the new 12x50 razors and I don't like them with my glasses. I actually trimmed the rubber eye cups to try and make it better but it didn't. Great glass but they missed the boat on the eye relief. I am going to sell mine when I get them back from vortex. I sent them in to have new eye cups put on and have them cleaned. I also had the older pair and they were much easier to look through with glasses.

Jim White undergoing open heart surgery...please pray for him
twigsnapper replied to CouesWhitetail's topic in Prayer Requests
The first time I met Jim he was selling tripods and binos at the Mormon Lake archery shoot. I bought my first tripod and his foam seat that day. He was a super nice man and I always loved visiting with him when I would see him at the shoots. He didn't know me but I sure appreciated his time and knowledge. Rest In Peace Jim. -
A $160 non-res hunt/fish license is more like calling the small appliance guy to work on your dishwasher and he fixes your broken freezer for free.
-
Lets put it in perspective: $160 = 4 trips to the movie with your ole lady = 2 used trail cameras = 3-4 boxes of 7mag shells = 1 Kenetrek boot = a shady trip to the dentist in Mexico or = 365 days of fishing or hunting in the great state of Arizona I know where my money would go. By the way, the non-res hunting license has been $151 since 2007 and that didn't include the right to fish. With 2% inflation it should cost you $170 today, so based on my redneck comparison and my finance degree I'd say $160 is a heck of a deal.

What's your most important piece of hunting gear?

I'm hunting the lower half and I have only seen Muleys, lots of them. Found a couple nice bucks but can't find a Coues. I dropped into Sycamore in Sunday and didn't even see a deer or elk. Do I keep glassing where I'm finding Muleys or move to plan C/D/E. Any input is appreciated. I've got a few days left to hunt.

Vortex Razor HD 11-33x50 compact spotter $590
twigsnapper replied to twigsnapper's topic in Classified Ads
I prefer the compact over the full size if I am packing the spotter in my backpack. If hunting near a truck or ATV I don't mind the weight of the full size. Full size are better optically but cost much more and weigh 2x sometimes 3x more. -
Good luck, walk soft and keep the wind at your nose.

I have this one too but don't like it as much as nimrod/crooked horn combo. http://www.cabelas.com/product/Horn-Hunter-Binocular-Case/1260831.uts?Ntk=AllProducts&searchPath=%2Fcatalog%2Fsearch.cmd%3Fform_state%3DsearchForm%26N%3D0%26fsch%3Dtrue%26Ntk%3DAllProducts%26Ntt%3Dbinocular%2Bcase%26WTz_l%3DHeader%253BSearch-All%2BProducts&Ntt=binocular+case&WTz_l=Header%3BSearch-All+Products

Kenetrek Boots Whats youre opinion...
twigsnapper replied to SwarovskiCoues's topic in Other Hunting Gear
Got my first pair of Kenetreks this season. After going through Danners every other year I decided to bite the bullet. I'm bought the Hardscabbles and really like them. I only have about 50 miles on them so far but the seem great. If I remember right the Desert Guides are not waterproof which is why I went with the Hardscrabble which is also non-insulated. -
Ya, heres a video

Which binos are you wearing around your neck? I use the nimrod with the crooked horn cover. I have had the one Amanda sells, the badlands and I prefer this setup. Been using 12x50 swaros with this setup and really like it. http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/sportsmans/Crooked-Horn-Bino-Shields/productDetail/Binocular-Accessories/prod9999013165/cat100084http://www.sportsmanswarehouse.com/sportsmans/Crooked-Horn-Bino-Shields/productDetail/Binocular-Accessories/prod9999013165/cat100084
