Let's be honest, you didn't want to be called a sissy by Lark. We all know that at some point Outdoor Writer will get on here and say something and Lark won't be able to help himself anymore. -

You just did this so you could post again that you drew a sheep tag didn't you?

So have you been there? Know anyone personally who has? If not, well, you just don't know what you are talking about.

Sounds like plenty. Don't overlook the PJ's, even if it's dry.

I am interested to hear what legal boundaries it crosses? And actually, what I am seeing here is one whiny non-paying guy who refused to cooperate with 11 other hunters and then blamed everyone but himself for being the guy who didn't tag out. Greyghost how many firsthand accounts have you listened to about the hunt? I know a few people who have done it, 'True Hunter' is the only one who has accused Russ of all this mess. I have no loyalty to Russ and wouldn't know the guy from Adam but when someone comes around challenging a mans integrity and character, I think we have to ask some reasonable questions. But hey, lots of folks on here are happy to find any reason to bash on any guide. And as far as the clinics, lots of guides put on clinics in conjunction with AZGFD. McClendon has done elk, Jay Scott and Darr have done elk and turkey, I think Lopeman had done elk. That's nothing new and no one' ahead has exploded yet, except a few turkeys on Jay's hunt videos.

10 days to hunt just the 3B tag? Or 3B plus all that other mess?

That's an AZ black rattler and they are not protected. Every black rattler I have come across has had a short temper. Once I tried to stone one and the SOB came right at me. Rattlers that are protected are the Twin Spotted, Rock and Ridge-Nose. -
Huh, thought that was trphyhntr's rig.

I'll take em if still available. Just need to work out a time to meet.

I do disagree with you a lot lately it seems. Mostly I think that's because I am measured and think through my responses and you seem to respond more emotionally. My wife does the same thing, so I'm used to it. 😉 My point is what makes one generation more entitled to hunt a given species than another? If our predecessors had that thinking we would have never seen recovery of Elk, Antelope, Turkeys, Waterfowl and most of the rest of our current western game. Those species exist today because conservationists at the turn of the century cared enough to help them recover. Not so they could hunt them, but so that we could. Leopoldo hunted during some of the lowest wildlife populations this continent has ever seen. But because he cared enough to put the good of the wildlife ahead of his own desires we in many cases have more now than we ever have before. It's an attitude shift, we can't be consumed about what we GET from hunting, but what hunting GIVES to everyone. That's the only way the Borth American model works, if everyone brings more than they take away.

I blame Kuiu, Flat Brimmed Hats and Trail Cameras in that order.

I hate these stories. I grew up in Gilbert during the hay day of prescription drug use that started the current heroine epidemic. Seen this a lot, and it sucks every time. -
Yeah well the kid who turns ten this year and would like to have a fraction of the opportunities old men like you and even middle aged men like me had disagrees with your opinion.

I don't run many cams but I have never had another person show up on the ones I put out.

Interesting question. I will tell you my experience. I went to private college outside AZ where residency did not impact tuition rates. After arriving I obtained a drivers license for that state, paid rent for three months, and continuously resided there for the same amount of time. At which point I bought a resident hunting license, deer tag, elk tag, fishing licenses and misc other permits included with their bundled combination tag permit option. A few days later game and fish came to my home to verify my residency. I had not lived there for six months and therefore did not meet the states definition of residency. I ended up in a court battle for a few months. As part of the process they checked to see if I had pulled any AZ licenses and permits. I had not and that was a driving factor in the charges being dropped despite me technically having violated the law. Take it from me that it's not worth messing around with residency issues. AZ has its own definition of residency. Here is a link. https://www.azgfd.com/PortalImages/files/licenses/residency/AZ%20Resident%20brochure_2016_nocrop_F.pdf Residency really has nothing to do with a drivers license, although that may be a consideration if other criteria are in question. Also, I never call and ask AZGFD questions about legality. They are not lawyers. And even the LEO's are only enforcing their interpratation of the law, which is subject to judgement from a prosecutor and judge. If you call you will only get one persons opinion of the law. You are much better off reading the regulations or statutes and making your own determination. Good luck!
