Looks hot. Why would you be there now?
-
Caught that. Then why did you ask where I was going with it? The point is, some of these ranchers want to do a lot of taking and don't want to do much giving. The ecosystem should not suffer because of the occupation of one person or family. I support ranching, but it, like all businesses, comes with risks.

If you ask me, it's because they didn't set up shop where wolves were at, the wolves were brought to the area. The homesteaders were the ones who wiped out the wolves. Regardless, at this point there are plenty of wolves, let the ranchers shoot them and at the same time give them nothing for a lost cow.

So someone explain to me again why a rancher who uses public land to support his living, and many times closes down access to said public land should receive taxpayer money when a native species is restored and kills his non-native livestock? I am all for ranchers defending their wildlife, but I am also all for wildlife having the right to exist. Go ahead, spit your fire, I am from a farming and ranching family but I am aware enough to know common sense is a two way street.

My grandpa was a mechanic in Yellowstone when my dad was growing up. He told a story of a road grader cutting into a bank in the spring and exposing a snake den. Said he abandoned the piece of equipment there and when the recovery crew showed up it was covered i snakes from the blade to the cab.

RInella as talked about this on his MeatEater Podcast a few times. From the beginning I have felt like wolves needed to be managed like wildlife. We have hundreds of other species that are under state control, what makes them believe that the second they have responsibility for wolves that is going to change. The answer is that the most outspoken portion of the hunter demgraphic says just that, SSS, smoke a pack a day, etc. Well, that gives them all the ammunition they need to stir up hysteria and tie things up in court.

I got one if you want to pick it up in Gilbert.

Getting there. Can shoot about 20 arrows at a time now but it's still hard to hold steady. This was total luck.

Interesting, Bob said I am not a real hunter last night. But this morning I woke up from a good nights reat like every other day. I didn't lose a wink over it. Hmm, turns out it doesn't matter what anyone else thinks.

How long is your barrel? When I shoot 150 in my CVA it just means more smoke and cleaning of my barrel with very little increase in velocity because so little of it burns before it clears the barrel. 1-1.5" doesn't seem too bad to me. Maybe I just don't have high enough standards. -

wild/feral pigs in AZ where can i find some on public land?
Flatlander replied to plee911's topic in Other Big Game
So as you can see you are going to have a hard time finding anyone willing to give up a spot. Hogs in AZ are very rare and the few folks who do have a bead on them are not inclined to let a bunch of people in on their honey hole. Welcome to the site and good luck with your search. You may be better off planning a dove hunt in Sept or coues hunt later in the fall. -
I sold one of these last week at a garage sale for $200. It was NIB. So yours is worth about $175.

We should do lunch.

+1 on the gas can also have a pair of Madson that I wear. I like glasses with lots of lense because I hate seeing the frame in my periphery. The Madsons are definitely more prone to scratch than the Oakley's.

Because it's illegal. Comment all you want, they will just dismiss it, says right on the comment page. I am happy to hear that they will transplant a few down to the HR and re-establish a herd there.

Do you use a forklift to move it?

The northern 2/3 of 3B is all glassable. But very few people hunt the Northern portions. Judging by the number of pics I have seen this year of people shed hunting and scouting, looks like it could be a record gate this year for the Woolhouse. Not to mention the wolves I saw in there a few weeks ago. Nevertheless, opening morning, there will be bulls dropping out there.
