Saw this on Instagram...what’s your take?
Flatlander replied to Yuma Outdoorsman's topic in The Campfire
It’s the best proposal out there. Everyone should email the commission about this. -
Man, you guys are pretty passionate about running water. On that hunt last year we just didn’t use the fresh water tank and kept a gallon jug next to the sink and toilet. Who cares if your black tank freezes. It will thaw if you are headed to low elevations after the hunt. No extra propane, no skirts or aprons.

I wanted to share the letter that AZGFD sent me after I forwarded the results of the petition along with an explanation of why over 2,100 Arizonans asked them to stop paying influencers to promote big game hunting opportunities that do not have a non-resident cap (all otc hunts, antlerless and any elk permits and javelina). To me, it’s clear that the department got the message from the many public comments they received on the topic. Unfortunately much of the damage was done. However, I think it’s a good sign that we spoke up and AZGFD acknowledged our request and changed course. Thanks to everyone who signed. Mr. Gillett, I am responding to your email to the Arizona Game and Fish Department Director and Commissioners regarding the use of influencers in marketing big game tags nationwide. The Department has already stopped such activities in relation to big game hunting. These activities were stopped in part because of public input, but also because of declining big game populations as a result of drought and an increasing trend in participation assumed to be related to the covid pandemic and the new interest in outdoor activities such as hunting. As stated we have stopped using influencers to market big game hunts indefinitely, but we may consider implementing similar activities in the future should the trends change. The Department may also continue to employ these types of marketing efforts for small game hunting opportunities such as dove. If you'd like to discuss this further with the Commission, you may speak at any of our regularly scheduled Commission meetings during the Public Comments section, or during any specific agenda item. Thank you for your interest, if you have any questions or wish to discuss further please let me know. HEIDI RAYMENT | MARKETING BRANCH CHIEF ARIZONA GAME AND FISH DEPARTMENT

So…. Do we have any ground pics of these bucks?
-
Do you read tarot cards? Palms? You have me pegged. UA must be incredibly proud of you.

Probably a good idea. You might want to practice counting to 3 (as in tines) so you don’t get confused and shoot a spike. Meanwhile, folks with legitimate degrees can keep simultaneously elk hunting and discrediting Wildcats who think they can fill the empty void UA left in their souls and minds by trying to minimize their failures. Good luck, and remember, 1, 2, 3

Read the title of the thread. Come on man, try to keep up.

Classic leftist move… if you are on inferior intellectual ground and losing the argument, change the subject. Just to remind you what we are talking about here… 2021 ASU 38 - 15 2020 ASU 70 - 7 2019 ASU 24 - 14 2018 ASU 41 - 40 2017 ASU 42 - 30 No matter how pathetic the team from North Nogales becomes, it’s still a pleasure stomping them in the ground.

Dustin epitomizes the desperation of UA fans to stay relevant when compared to ASU. After going on the worst losing streak of any major sports team in AZ (worse than the suns and d backs which have been historically awful at times) he decides that because ASU lost 4 games total in a year, UA is successful. This is typical of losers and liberals throughout the world who are too insecure to look themselves in the mirror and face their failures and instead spend their lives justifying their shortcomings and making excuses about the success of others. Now, can I get those fries please?

Left Over tag: Unit 1 Coon Canyon/Flat Top

My guess is you could walk that entire unit in 1-1/2 days. If there is no sign, they probably aren’t there. -
They only show leftover permits issued in the portal. The application won’t be listed there.

Recent? Like sometime within the last 8 years since he made that post? -
Almost as bad as getting beat by NAU at home… ALMOST.

Through it all one constant remains… U of A sucks.

Usually its as much about who has space as it is about who you want. I've used Miller's, Von Hanson, and Karl's in Cottonwood. All do nice work. Karl does a good clean job. Von Hanson's jalapeno and cheese sausage is to die for. But whenever possible, I do my own.

Soak it up. The direction of our program going forward doesn’t look encouraging.

Why I switched to micro’s, specifically VAP TKO (pink fletching) from Hunter XT (Green fletch). A good friend who is an archery pro suggested upgrading for arrow groups and penetration. So far his advice seems spot on.

Giant bull. Congrats!

The amount of pressure put on these animals by one tag holder in a huge geographic area over several weeks probably doesn't even register. Especially considering the amount of archery deer pressure in these units at these times, the impact to deer is a drop in the bucket. For the elk, they may get more pressure from poachers than this will generate.

We applied our little band of 3. Those whitetail tags would be sweet. The units they chose for carp are interesting. As far as elk, definitely not primo tags, but it would be kind of cool to go smoke a big bull in one of those giant winter herds in Unit 1. Imagine a January cape on one of those beasts.

Can you post a link?

Congratulations on a nice buck and getting back after it!
