Is GnF awake and working? They had a special helpline open up until the deadline last night.
-
G&F will F@&$ it up somehow and extend the deadline as usual Wanna bet? I'll throw a benji down.

Website seems to be working lightning fast. This is so weird.

Hopefully you and I are in the same boat next year!

The way the bonus pass is administered is that all applications are reviewed for the bonus pass. They start with the applications that have the max number of points and evaluate their first two choices before moving down to the next highest point level. If there are multiple people with that number of points, they are issued random numbers and reviewed from lowest to highest. This process continues until the 20% bonus pass is met for all hunts.

Welp, I am in solo. Should have high odds for the hunts I applied for. If I get lucky I may make a season long docuthread on the whole thing. We'll see what happens.

That's not totally true. Private land issues make some of those goats unkillable.

There are hunts he can draw.

My guess is that if you don't talk to game and fish they will come talk to you. I had this happen one time in another state and a game warden showed up at my door and wanted to know why I bought a resident license if I was not a resident. The default is NR because they want you to have to choose Resident and confirm the affidavit that says you meet the requirements. I don't think it will mess up your app as it doesn't tie to your hunting license.

You are mostly correct, however there is no way to identify whether the folks drawn had the hunt as their first or second choice. Because of the way the draw is administered, first and second choices are evaluated together in both the bonus pass and 1-2 pass. So for instance in the bonus pass the applicants with 10 PT's would have their application reviewed for their first and then second choice before going to the next applicant with that number of points until all point holders at all levels are reviewed. In the 1-2 passit is repeated, but based on each applicants random number starting from lowest and working to highest. Then it's repeated for choices 3-5. Hope this helps.

Bonus pass by hunt number

I rolled a quad once with my soon to be wife on the back. When I saw her dad the next day he asked me whether I thought enough of the future mother of my children to give her a helmet before tipping the machine over. Lesson learned. Don't tell FIL anything.

So my dad and I built most of our points together and we had always applied for elk on the same app. Recently though my dad gave up bow hunting and spends May-Oct in Montana. I can't blame him, they live on a hillside with bugling bulls all around them for the whole month of September and he just doesn't see the point of leaving that to come down to AZ and have to live in a camp for the same experience. I get it. However this left me with out a draw/elk hunting companion. Lots of people have volunteered to help with scouting and during the hunt, for which I am grateful and plan to include any and all who want to participate. But I thought it might be easy enough to find someone else who was planning to hunt and share the burden of scouting and share some camp responsibilities with during the hunt. I put a lot of work into a hunt like this and was hoping to share it with someone else who also had a vested interest in putting the work in. And then there is the points. I am terrified of point creep this year and would love to bump up into a class where i didn't think I would have to worry about it.

Don't be silly. Let archery.

I have 11. I have units in mind but I could be persuaded to do otherwise. Really want to hunt with my bow though.

Thanks for the nod. I am looking to burn points and draw this year, with my kid turning 10 next year, I know I am entering a new era of hunting where taking 14 days to hunt for myself won't be realistic. So looking to get it done this year, and then get to work with the kiddos. I can hardly contain my excitement.

AZGFD's reports are terrible. The one you really want is Bonus Point Analysis by Hunt 2016 WINTER Bonus Pass. It can be found in the same place as the 1-2 pass report you have. For that hunt, every resident was successful who had more than 4 PT's. After the bonus pass 24 tags were left for the random draw with approximately 94 remaining applicants. So your odds are on the order of 25%. Slightly more if you have 3 PT's and a little less if you have 0 PT's. Good luck, I have been on that hunt and I killed an elk. Lots of fun.

I've been over and over the info. Still can't decide what to do. Last year was a weird year because of the changed NR quota's and its tough to predict this year and I definitely want to hunt this year.

Awesome dude, congrats to both of you!!!

Flatlander replied to Jay Scott's topic in Jay Scott Outdoors/Colburn and Scott Outfitters
Dude grow up. If you want to talk shoot call the man and say it, he posted his phone number for the world to see. No need for it here. Good luck Jay, nice website. -
Wondering if there is any interest in these. I would like to buy a spotting scope. Good condition, the rubber has some marks. Recently had Mt. Optic in Flathead, MTgo through them and tune them up. If you know Docters, you know he's the man. $700 face to face located in Gilbert.
