Depends on how much you value time and information. I can tell you that when I compiled full draw odds tables just for elk and antelope in AZ, it took me over 40 manhours of data entry and spreadsheet building. So if you would rather do it that way, it's an option. For me, I can't fill out an app without the data, however many other states offer it in a more user friendly for direct from their wildlife agencies. But for those that do not, these types of services are a must have. Is Hunters Trailhead still $25 for all western states? That might be a more budget friendly option.

You are a class act TJ. Proud to know you.

Mike I love and respect you but that comment is out in left field. Violence on innocents does not justify violence on innocents. Being an illegal immigrant does not make someone dangerous. It does make them criminal and worthy of being sent back. Yes we should secure our border. Yes we should prosecute violators of immigration laws. But no, we should never justify violence against an entire group of people who are not all party to the violent behavior.

Ok, for anyone who ever complained about tag numbers, or that the archery hunts are too early, or about the bright idea to have gun hunters go before archery hunters in one randomly selected and impossible to predict unit each year... Here is your chance to weigh in on the criteria that sets the hint structures in place. Logo GAME AND FISH NEWS Jan. 6, 2017 Arizona Game and Fish Department Arizona Game and Fish Department seeks input on game management hunt guidelines PHOENIX The Arizona Game and Fish Department is accepting comments on improving the hunt guidelines to continue the sustainable management of the state's game animals, while providing as much hunting recreation as possible. Comments on the existing hunt guidelines may be submitted through Feb. 15, 2017, either by e-mail to AZHuntGuidelines@azgfd.gov, or by mail to Hunt Guidelines, Arizona Game and Fish Department, 5000 W. Carefree Highway, Phoenix, AZ 85086. "This is your opportunity to get involved in the nuts and bolts of this process, which guides how hunts are set each year," said Big Game Management Supervisor Amber Munig. "We are seeking your ideas, comments, concerns, or observations on how to meet the many demands by our varied hunting public, as well as fostering new opportunities for continuing our hunting heritage for future generations." The hunt guidelines provide the biological and social parameters that make up the "recipes" used by wildlife managers to formulate the annual hunt recommendations (season structures, season lengths, season dates, permits allocated, etc.) and results in the hunts in which sportsmen, women and children participate. However, wildlife biologists note that while wildlife is held in the public's trust, and hunting opportunity is important, using science-based principles in shaping the guideline process remains paramount to assure healthy, sustainable, and diverse wildlife populations in perpetuity. After all the comments are received, reviewed and processed, the department will host public meetings across the state to present the proposed revisions, answer questions, and collect any further public input. A final draft will then be prepared and posted on the department's website prior to being presented to the Arizona Game and Fish Commission in September. The existing hunt guidelines, as well as information on the hunt guidelines process, can be found at www.azgfd.gov/huntguidelines. Did you know? Arizona hunting and fishing licenses are a great value. You can get combination hunting and fishing licenses for a family of four for less than the price of one night in a motel. I am far from an elk rut expert but seems like you'd be hitting prime time. I'd be worried about broken bulls though. I do know a little bit about the draw and I'd say 19 might well give you a tag in some of the early rifle units. I'd say it definitely gets you a tag in some Muzzleloader units.

Cody I believe their odds to be accurate. I have cross checked a few of theirs with my own. What hunt and how many points?

I think it's an auction. I'll bid $1

Great explanation. Although it is no longer necessary to interpolate, the NR reports are shown in the end of the bonus pass report this year.

Triclawps is awesome but definitely need to support the butt stock. I've got one if you want to try it out.

Once in a lifetime last day buck
Flatlander replied to bonecollector777's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
You'll all hate me due to the fact I had no clue he existed until I saw him yesterday haha. Have had three guys message me saying they have been chasing him the last week right there. Did you check to see if A3 had any pics of him? -

Have any trail cam pics of him? -
For what it's worth I anticipate slapping a CDS on this one. Since it's for the kids I want it to be stupid simple. Maybe get two sets of dials made, one for 2000' elevation for carp and pigs then one for 5500' for elk and couez.

Replica Sheep Horns for Hunt for Heroes Tag Donor - Passing the Hat
Flatlander replied to Heat's topic in The Campfire
The hunter was not seriously injured in the fall, mostly his pride I think. He hunted 4 more days after that. Nick what you are doing is awesome. I will be in touch to kick you some funds. It's the least we can do to thank him for his selflessness. -
Scope?Hasn't got one yet. Any suggestions? Tasco, Redfield, Playskool

Scope?

Well do you think you could bother to say what setup it is? That was kind of the point of this post.

No doubt the arrogant sob would love to stick it to us on his way out. To respond to the comment about no one talking about this, what is there to say. There is nothing we can do about it, our representatives are engaged and don't need prompting. So for me, I am just choosing not to stress about what might happen.
-
Sorry, just trying to help people out if they read that. I'm not arguing semantics, just that are plenty of good tags being drawn with less than 8 points in the bonus pass pool. I will keep my mouth shut from now on. Sorry man, not trying to bust your cajones. I should have realized your intent would be to help other guys out. I think the stress of trying to decide on hunt choices this year got to me. You're a standup dude.

And now you know the rest of the story . . . Thanks for adding that Lee and welcome to the CWT family. Don't worry, not every thread is as inspiring as this. Just wait a day or two and I am sure our sibling like quarreling will resume. Hope you get felling better. - Andrew

This is like watching my kids argue about the rules of some game. Pretty sure the guy was just dealing in generalities to illustrate a point. That being said, I think everyone should hold out for "Premier" units. Although I am not sure where that is anymore. If you listen to Jay Scott, 9 is no good, 10 is shot out, 1 has too many tags. I guess Everyone just has to wait for 23N.

the least desirable archery hunts still take 8 points to get in the bonus. personally id rather wait a year or 2 and get 1 over 4a. but thats just me That's not true. what did you have in mind, unit 2 limited opportunity? 5b south is 8. 4a and 4b and theyre both 8, unit 21 also 8 6A, 6B and 11M.Interesting Well you did say LEAST desirable, and those do take fewer than 8. I mean technically I think 28, 31 and 32 might be less desirable.
