Years ago when unloved in Utah I had a map store that could print custom 7.5 minute series topo maps. Does anyone know of a service here in AZ that does something similar? I've tried wide world of maps, they were basically useless.

Just a heads up these run small, mine are a full size smaller than my normal boots. So if you wear size 9 these may fit you ok. -
Spend it with your boys!

I am leading a group of 400 people on a 3 day hike next month near Happy Jack. Of course the area we were hung was right on the border of two USGS 7.5' topo's. I posted about it and Amanda put me in touch with Ed. I was able to set a print range and zoom level on my maps and then use the markup tools to mark the hike route and campsites. After placing the order Ed called me for more information and then enhanced the map to better show my markups. To top it off, Ed lives nearby and offered to meet up and let me review the map to make sure it was what I needed before printing eight of them. Ed is obviously a guy who loves what he does and knows his stuff. I love maps and can hardly wait to get some made for this falls hunts. Being able to load a map on my phone is huge, and with the Avenza app you can turn on your tracks and then export them to a kmz file to show them on google earth. So basically I have a new favorite toy. -
If he needs a cooler for a sheep hunt and this year is his first time applying, he might get it in time. I have a pelican, I like it (I also bought it ridiculously cheap).

Ed Is there anyway to preserve my markups (features and attributes) when printing my map onto a USGS topo?

I have had occasion to weigh this same decision not too long ago. Here is what I came up with: - NM has more elk and less people. As you have seen, elk tags are much easier to come by there. NM wins hands down. - Mule deer is basically the exact opposite. NM has the Jicarilla and surrounding area and without bonus points those tags are a pipe dream for most. Other than that, it's pretty slim pickings. AZ you can bow hunt every year and build points for a December hunt, Kaibab or the strip. Advantage AZ. Good luck. And by the way, we chose to remain in AZ. But that had more to do with not wanting to live in the neck tattoo capital of the world than hunting.

Well I suppose I could not have tee'd that up any better if I had tried. Thanks for the info, I will be in touch.

Oh boy! -
I can assure you, you didn't draw that, or any elk tag 5th choice. There are quite a few elk tags you can draw fifth choice. Anything that has leftovers for instance would have been drawable in the final round.

I passed along to a couple of graduating seniors I know.

Wait, you can road hunt and kill deer in this state?! Count me in!!!Only if you take questionable shots at ranges you've never practiced That's perfect cause I don't have a rangefinder anyway, where do I sign up? I'll bring a minivan with a set of those rolling doors, we can get a shooter on each side.

That's why they keep getting stolen.

I've had the December tag before, even when there were way more tags than now, it really wasn't bad. I can't wait.
