I have 25 now unless something miraculous happens, but to be honest I put in with my brother and we went into the draw with 21 this year. 5b and 9 were our choices. Congrats! Dang it, I was really pulling for you! By the way, both boys are still playing away on the piano.

When I have a good tag or I am undertaking a hunt as a mission of some sort I will dedicate 3-4 hours per week to getting ready. Some weeks that means google earth and marking up some maps, scouting, shooting, reading, organizing my notes, calling land owners, escouting, contacting previous tag holders etc. Just do something every single week, it will make you more confident by the time you get out there and the experience will be more rewarding. Good luck, I am jealous.

I could have a tag every year if I just wanted to hunt elk. Unfortunately there are no secret recipe's or special tricks to getting drawn. I have 11 pts I started accumulating while away at college and working out of state. Like everybody else with that many points I want something specific before cashing in. Anyway, like I said I chose to wait for later archery dates and am hating it right now (but I still think it was the best decision).

I am going. Let me know if you want to tag along. Thinking quantity over quality. I'll take two doe tags and a buck tag if I can get it.
