Also a new record. Then the Hualapai elk tag went for $62k, a 3rd record. The money was flowing tonight. Unfortunately the prizes were not, our whole table walked away empty handed. Nevertheless a fun night, always good to see good things happening for wildlife.

I hope everyone who updates this thread gets an ingrown toe nail.

Really cool bull. Great job on a late hunt.

Me too, and I am not in the White Mountains, unfortunately.

Ward's just posted some pics of all their deer from 15. Those results are enough to make me a believer.

Nice work! -
Wow, look at those main beams.

ASU, at their low point of the season, led New Mexico by 10 at halftime and went on to win by 24. For the sake of the PAC I hope U of A can keep from embarrassing themselves in the last two quarters of this game. And with the Hurley at the helm the Devils look to be a legit round ball threat this year as well. Haven't been hearing much from Redman and his crew of pussy cat followers since their premature post about how woeful the Tempe basketball program was going to be this year. 😀 All in good fun mates.

That's a lot of pork. Congrats! -
Alright, I am just curious. I have a few elk points and am looking to burn them this year. I should have enough to draw any of the following hunts, I have my own ideas but am always interested in what others think. All are early archery. - 3B - 4A - 5A - 5BN - 5BS - 6A - 7E - 7W - 8 - 10 - 22 - 27

If 23s was their second choice what do you think their first choice was? Probably not 4b late cow. Pretty small number draw their first choice. I don't think people realize just how tough some of these units are. And once they do, they often decide to go hunt elsewhere. In reality, someone with 10 pts now could draw a decent unit now, and probably one more time before they are good my to make the bonus pass on 23. So you tell me, which is better 2 good hunts or 1 great hunt?

I am in Gilbert and do pickups for Badlands Custom Taxidermy. Their shop is in Holbrook but I take in animals, cape them and then get them into Dustin's hands. Text me if you are interested. 480 266 4811

(2nd update w/ pics) What do you think...Possible Elk track in OTC unit

Stud whitetail. Hope that lion don't eat him up. -
Think of it as if the draw was done by pulling names out of a hat. A person with 9 points get their name in the hat 9 extra times, one for each point. Yes, you have a better chance than someone with 9 pts but a worse chance than someone with 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 or 17 pts. You have really BAD odds of drawing that tag. I have a better chance of winning a beach body competition than most people do of drawing that tag.

Why have a deadline at all? I mean, if there is no deadline then no one would ever miss it. There are apps for this, there are calendars, phone reminders, wives, buddies, regs, etc. Last year I forgot to buy my WY point. Why you ask? Because they moved the deadline back to November. So on July 1 when my reminder went off I turned it off and said who cares I have 4 months for that and never thought about it again. Oh well. No need to change the rules because I am dumber than a box of rocks. That's my fault.

Blasphemy!!!! I HATE the no point system. Every year dumping my money in the toilet with no more hope the next year to show for it. Seriously, I will fight you in the street if you try to get momentum behind that in our state. Such a frustrating system.

BC777 is right on with the process. The bonus pas for 23N last year was 17 pts, up an astounding 4 points from 2014. I think people are finally giving up on the rifle tag. Everyone with 15 pts drew 23S.

This sounds awesome.

Good on you Tom. I can assure the world this guy is the furthest thing from self promoting. I think BC7 had it right, what's important is trying to get these back into the hands of their owner.

We seen em down around Gisela, Mt Ord and Slate Creek during the bow hunt.

In Montana they call those handlebars.

Thanks for the info guys. I am planning on the special draw. I am 100% open to other units, I had only selected 59 because my uncle who knows antelope pretty good hunted it and said there were plenty of good bucks. A 75" buck would put a big smile on my face and earn a permanent spot in the man cave. But, just as important to me is quantity. I would really like to dind somewhere the wife and I can also get some extra for tags. It just sounds like fun taking the whole family up and filling the truck with goat carcasses.

Awesome deal. I paid $1700 plus for the same scope.

Somewhere there is a giant heart shaped hot tub with a dirt ring around it and a drain full of beard hair.
