That was great analysis. Jay you said that 23 South archery is a great hunt for the right kind of hunter. How would you define that type of hunter? I agree and have my opinions but am curious about what you think.

Muzzy tag should be much better with the reduced tags and seasons.

Just noticed while doing my app that they cut the 19a archery lope hunt from 2 weeks to 1 week. That ought to put a dent in the success rate. Guess I am looking elsewhere, 3bn is sounding better all the time.

About the same as a 3bn lope hunt. Sucks.

How far out are you from a 3c tag? If you're within a few years you might wanna hold out. 3c surprised me this last year. 27 has some good Bulls but a lot of guys struggled up there this year. I personally don't think 27 is all its cracked up to be. 1 pt shy

Hey flatlander clear your pm's was trying to send you a message. Will do, but act fast, it is perpetually full this time of year with draw info requests. Yes, even though there is a thread lots of people still send PM's like their draw choices are a military secret or something.

Seems close. I came up with 22% vs. their 28%.

Seems about right to me. I would avoid hunts with a very small number of tags, Since now only 5% of the tags can go to NR in the bonus pass, you will kind of lose your benefit on the ones where the bonus pass line was right around 9. Try to pick a unit where the BP line was 7 or 8 for your best shot. I have hunted all of those units and I can say that 22s and 3b, get really small really fast with more limited habitat ranges that time of year. Everything else is pretty typical elk habitat. Oh, and I expect 22 to creep to 10 this year.

Sorry, but if I told you that here they wouldn't be the best odds anymore. Typically the hunts with the best odds tend to have smaller tag numbers, and weird seasons and dates. Youth hunts are actually not easier to draw. A few good options for you: 3B late muzzleloader bull hunts Late season rifle bull hunts for non premium units on the rim Cow hunts in the units you dont see talked about all the time. Be sure to check the success rates in the regs, you dont want a sucky hunt to start them out. Text me if you want more help. 480 266 4811
