1%, buy a bow and switch units or be prepared to wait a LONG time.

At 4 pts you are pretty decent chance on most mid level late rifle bull hunts. You could be 100% on a few cow hunts. You can have the late archery bull tag in Unit 22n most years if you want, and Coon Canyon archery cow every year without burning a point.
-
1% last year in unit 1. Last time in 27 it was also 1%. With 15 guys ahead of you in line and a 4 guy per year burn off, you could still be afew years away. Now smokepole on the other hand . . .

Heaven knows I don't know much but for what it's worth (also not much) here it is. You can hunt the Deep Well ranch in either unit, for free, walk in only. Besides that 19b is fairly slim pickings, but you don't need much more than that. The perkinsville ranch in 19a is a crap shoot. Last I checked they only let a couple guys on the ranch and you had to pay up front to get in there. But there was no way to tell what was going to be on the ranch come the hunt when you paid a grand or more in April or May. It's a dicey prospect for an AZ antelope hunt but typically 80"+ is very do able. Has anybody heard how the hints went last year with the reduced tags? I know 2014it was all doom and gloom and all the muzzleloader guys said that the gene pool had been shot out for the next quarter century or so.

Don't lie, it was the biggest DEAR you've had a chance at

We used to party out in the desert there WAY back in the day before there was such a thing as San Tan Valley, we found a dead guy one time. I've stayed away since.

Who cares. Antelope might even be easier to hunt out of the rut when big bucks don't have 20 extra eyes around and don't run all over god's creation chasing every buck that walks by. Overlap in hunting areas with elk is pretty minimal.

Awesome

Get up high and glass. I like to stay out of the pines so I can actually see. Lower elevations hold mule deer, which I think are easier to hunt spot and stalk than Muley's especially during the rut. There are deer in the whole unit. Good luck!

Probably 1 of the coolest gifts i have ever received!

It was a pain in the butt to get open! They use stud glue or aomething similar. Wife sent one to her stepdad like this but also wrapped with layer after layer of the duct tape, i would have killed her. Thats awesome! He'll stop being mad as soon as he sees what's inside. Maybe.....My paps wasn't at house to see it so he is getting 1 for b-day. The thought behind this is what was awesome! I remember getting $5 useless big 5 sporting good crap from my x for b-days and Christmas, you know the camping toilet paper (biodegradeable), maybe a lighter or $5 headlamp.. it is nice to be married to someone who wants to make ya smile even if ya gotta work for it a little. I know every Christmas will hold a gift i would never expect! My ex probably gave me something good at one point or another, but the only things I can remember are the child support payment, the $12k bill from my lawyer to defend me from that sucubus, the ruined credit and the bankruptcy. I know jesus said to forgive and love your enemies and all that, but im pretty sure hed make an exception in this case. I had an ex give me something once. But a round of penicillin fixed it pretty quick. -
Congrats! Been a long time since I spent ten straight days in the field, you're a lucky man.

Found a few in the transition zone last weekend.

Ahhh I thought I heard something, the familiar sound of Nogales Tech making some noise now that football is over. The wildcats suck, and so do their fans.

Don't feel bad, we're family and I didn't get invited. Good work Josh, You said Ellie was sore but how bout you? Those hills can get rough. I spent all day in 22 and didn't see a single quail bird. -
They don't have a contractor. Now in house.

Could be a lot of truth in this . . .

Awesome Oz!!! Bucks were cruising and chasing today in 22, both the dopey eared variety and the little ones.

That is one sexy piece of iron right there. Mark is awesome. Took great care of me when we set my wife up for her elk hunt.

Early Kaibab vs Late desert Muzzleloader vs 3A/C
Flatlander replied to DesertBull's topic in Mule Deer Hunting
No brainer if you are hunting with Koury. Trphyhntr is local and it was no piece of cake for him last year. I wouldn't necessarily assume the pics you've seen from any unit this year to be representative of what you can expect normally, but especially the desert. -
Anybody else have the archery tag and want to join forces for the first couple days? I put in with some buddies but they can't hunt over New Years. I live in Gilbert and will day hunt the lower country Friday and Saturday.

I hate you all. No elk, no tamales, this guy no happy.

Looks like fun Josh. I couldn't do the wind today, stayed home and watched movies with the boys.
