    coati

Smoked one when I was 17, at 275 yards none the less. Only one I have ever seen. We left it cause one leg was taken off. I have regretted it ever since, but I was 17, how was I supposed to know that I wouldn't see one again in the next 15 years.

    37A?

Found a nice shed down around Newman last pig season. Saw a few bucks near the owl heads the year before that.

    Kudos CWT and Healy Arms

Went to buy a new rifle for the wife & tater tots earlier this year. Did my research on line and found buds was the cheapest, when I called Healy about the transfer, they found a way to beat the price, plus they had flatline maps and cci .22 ammo on the shelf. They were a breeze to work with. Definitely found my new home town gun shop.

Man, I've had a bloody forehead before. Not easy to clear out the cobwebs and get back behind the cannon. Good for her. One heck of a buck there.

Mine and my Little brother Bucks

I am jealous, yes about the buck, but much more so about the time you got to spend with your brother. Enjoy it my friend, congrats on a great hunt!
  12. Anyone see the notification for this? Says they are going to discuss a whistleblower case and possible budget changes. I probably can't watch, can anyone else update us on what is addressed? Not trying to stir the pot, just want to know what's brewing.

The guys at Desert country archery in Holbrook live in the unit and hunt that country a lot. They might be able to help you out.

    AZGFD Special Meeting

What's the law regarding how long in advance they have to let the public know about the meeting? Like you said seems strange they are giving close to 24 hours notice before a meeting like this. I'd of liked to gone down and seen what it was all about. Typically 24 hrs, but they do not have to email all interested parties, simply post it on their website. So I don't know exactly when it was posted. Looks like they put it on Facebook around 5:00 yesterday so maybe they put it on their website first the. FB then emailed today. That probably meets the requirement. Did anyone catch the meeting to see what was discussed? And for the crowd still discussing the ethics of Wagners actions, that has been discussed at length elsewhere and is not the topic here. Start your own thread if you want to talk about that. The intent here is simply to discuss action being taken by the commission and the contents of the whistle blower letter.

    AZGFD Special Meeting

Ooh, this is getting juicy. Thing is I don't have anything against him or the department. But I do think we should all be paying attention to what's going on and I am highly suspicious of the timing of the notification for a special meeting. Not sure this would meet AZ's definition of an open meeting.

    AZGFD Special Meeting

From reading the full agenda the whistle blower item is related to the case of Wildlife Manager Shawn Wagner's case against the state. For those who don't remember Shaw Wagner was an AZGFD employee who shot a bull on an archery hunt (legally) and then left his tag with another AZGFD employee to put on the bull after he left camp. The subsequent investigation was fumbled by AZGFD and he sued them and was awarded some compensation (ROM $100,000). Should be interesting to see what else might be developing. BoneColletor777 should be all over this.
