11% Not sure I can answer this one. Please clarify ant and whether these hunts are archery, rifle or muzzleloader. Sorrry, post again and I will get you what you need. If you do it that way you will most likely draw the 3a/3c tag in the bonus pass and not ever be considered for the 5a rifle tag. Which, in my opinion, is probably just fine. But if you really want the 5a early rifle tag you may want to consider a more difficult second choice such as Unit 1, 23 or 9. But your chance of drawing the early 5a tag in the 1-2 pass is going to be single digits. You should be 100% on everything but the Unit and the rifle tag. Think carefully, your fixing to burn some points. 22 only has one archery hunt and its for the entire unit - 7% (this hunt used to be a sleeper, no more. Its one of thee toughest in the state to draw, in just a few years it has gone from sleeper to OVERRATED) 8% 25% No worries. - Last year Unit 9 had 12 guys who applied with 22 pts and did not get drawn. Look for them to repeat again this year. This leaves you just out of the bonus pass and fighting 2% odds. Unit 10 was a similar story with 10 hold overs from the 22 pt pool. However with 20 tags available via the bonus pass this year, you will have a chance at securing at putting those bonus points to work and getting a tag before the unit creeps another point. I put our chances around 1 in 10. Tell him to keep his chin up. We want to see some field photo's of him this fall! I am sure somehow, some way he will end up with a decent tag or two.

BNSF in Flag was hiring a few weeks ago. Also Diversified Metal Fabrication will hire good welder a anytime. It won't pay like the oil fields but it will pay, barely.

Hmmm, sound good, not that I would know of course. Might as well be Loch Ness Monster tacos from my experiences te last several years.

4%, 7% 25%, 15% 1%, 3% 2%, 2% 20%, 55% 4%, 25%, 17% 4%, 21%, 13%, 2% 3%, 4% 8%, 11%, 6%, 9% 8% (No bonus pass on this hunt so as you start to get into higher BP totals you may want to switch it up if tags don't get bumped over 5. No. Maybe that ML hunt you did in the past.

Of those the only one I think you can get is 10, which you should be pretty safe on. You also would have been safe on unit 1. Good luck.

Happy birthday to one of the first folks I ever met on this site. Keep it classy my friend. We still have a backpack trip to do.

Stupid iPhone. That last sentence was from a text message I was sending. Don't call me.

In December I crawled to within 45 yds of a bedded coues buck, then stood up and scared him off. Took a walk without my bow in ID and proceeded to call a 6 pt bull to within 50 yds. Belly crawled to 45 yds from a B&C antelope buck and then stood up and my arrow fell of the rest. There is a sampling. I have more if you are still feeling bad.

Sorry if I hurt your feelings. I was just trying to be funny. Please come back

Well more of the same yesterday. I tried some new country, saw tons of deer and pig sign but didn't glass up a dang thing. I can't remember the last time I spent a day in the glass and didn't turn up a single thing. I did quit at noon due to family commitments, so I guess it was only half a day. I still believe the country I was in is the right country, so maybe I will give it a run again next year. I did score a nice shed, it was chalked out so I am guessing not too many people are hunting this particular spot. Oh well, there's always February.

Yes, the ID panhandle is wild country, and not the greatest elk country in the world. However Unit 11 has produced pretty consistently and held together through the wolf invasion mostly because of how rugged the country is. The unit I recommended is not in Northern ID. It is in Southeast ID, which does exist. The wolves are not as rampant in the southern part of the state and Tex Creek has been a solid numbers unit for ID for a decade or so. Last I checked there was only 1 resident herd of wolves and hunters have put some pressure on them since the limits were raised and trapping was made legal. As an Idaho resident for several years we began to see clearly what areas were going to survive the wolf invasion and which were not. Good luck on whatever you decide.

Good work.
