That is how 80% of the tags are drawn, so it is very likely that you could draw the hunt you want before ever hitting the bonus pass. But with the bonus pass, you know there is an end to your suffering. Airmark, congrats on your 23N bull, its a beauty. But as someone who has never once had an archery bull tag in this state, I hope you never draw a tag again in your life . . .

Opinions on Phil Roberston suspension from A&E

Time off and not a tag in my pocket bad combination -
And so it begins . . . I worked all through the break and have all the odds worked up in spreadsheets for Antelope, Rifle Bull, Rifle Cow and Archery Bull. I will tell you this, with 4 BP you will not make the bonus pass on any early archery hunts. There are several late rifle tags that you would have very favorable odds for. There was a general point creep in nearly all early archery hunts last year and almost every unit required about 1 more BP to make the bonus pass than in 2012. With fewer than 6 BP you will need to get lucky to land a tag. Which is how 80% of tags are drawn, so it can happen.

Opinions on Phil Roberston suspension from A&E

I may get drawn and quartered for saying this but I'm a glutton for punishment so what the heck. Phil 100% had the right to say what he did (and I agree with him btw). And A&E 100% had the right to fire him. And he has the right to go somewhere else. I would make the same argument for a small business owner who wanted to fire someone for whatever reason they so chose. -
KHMER the reason we do that is so that after 6 or 7 blown stalks we can go fling an arrow at a pig and get our spirits back up.

The white hots are great. I have been keeping it to 100 grain because as Coach pointed out its a lot tougher to get the groups tight, it may have something to do with all that smoke and the way I flinch like a step child in K Mart. Even with a 295 gr PB in there 100 gr seems to be plenty. I keep my shots to 150 yds, not that it helps. I still can't hit anything that breathes.

Hey Keith hit me up if you have any questions, I've spent some time out that way.

My first archery kill!

Sweet shot. That AZ Black Rattler in your avatar looks like it has some attitude. I have never seen one that didn't. I've seen several in my favorite coues canyon and they are all nasty . . . and they look just plain mean. -
I am shooting 295 grain PB and two pellets of white hot. I don't think I would be worried about terminal effects on a pig. Anything from a .50 cal should be terminal enough.

Thanks for the tips guys. Hoping I can whack one quick during my 33/37B archery hunt so I can get out to 37A for a day or two and check things out during the archery deer hunt.

Ok, I posted on this earlier and got no response so I am hoping it was just the way I titled it. I agreed to take out a couple of guys who have not ever hunted before on the 37A HAM hunt. They have been trying to get me to go out with them for a while and I just haven't made time. Since this will be their first hunt I am hoping to at least provide a memorable experience. I hit up the G&F website but I know those pages can get pretty outdated and I haven't hunted 37A in like 15 yrs. Can anyone help me with the following questions? I was thinking of hunting the Picacho's/Newman peak area East of the canal, is there typically a bunch of guys in that area? And is there anywhere to get across the canal with a vehicle from the West? One other spot I was considering were the hills bordering the ag lands north of Red Rock. I seem to remember quite a few folks hunting that area way back when and glassing areas were pretty limited, can anyone confirm or deny? Thanks for any response, and if I can ever help you out I will be happy to return the favor.

I have been waiting to hear back from him . . . here is my number 480 266 4811. I have walking pneumonia right now but may be back in the saddle by thurs . . . -
I got moderated . . . I think that's a first.

I dropped a Javelina in its tracks with a shot from a .22LR with standard Federal brick hollow points. I would say shots under 50 yds would be just fine. I have seen a few tassel eared gray squirrels that would rival the size of a gray fox.

Ok so let me get this straight: On Dec. 11 Yuma Archer says (paraphrasing) "Hey I heard a lady killed a new #2 in the world bull, does anybody know anything else about it?" Someone replies "It was some guy I knows' kid . . ." Hunt Junkie chimes in and says "Yes, its true my daughter killed a huge bull and I will give a few details but I respectfully ask that no one post pics . . ." And now a bunch of spoiled internet desk jockeys are pitching a fit because he would like to present the pictures when and how he chooses? No wonder so many people have chosen not to share pics of their animals. If the guy, his kid, or both want to be in a hunting magazine that is their own dang business and absolutely none of our business, its his right and he doesn't owe any of you cry babies squat. He didn't come on here to brag and then refuse to post, someone else suggested they knew about it and he provided some clarification. If you want to see pics of a giant dead bull so bad, why don't you get out from behind your monitor and go kill one. And for those of you (Yes lance and naturegirl I am speaking to you) that are calling him greedy, you should know that most of those magazines don't pay anything for their stories, a few give out some prizes ie; binos or a rifle or a pack, etc. But the people in these magazines are not getting rich from their articles. Its a pretty rare opportunity to get published and its their right to enjoy that opportunity. Your comments equate to criticizing someone for choosing to voice their opinion in an op-ed piece for a newspaper instead of just throwing it up on facebook or their family blog. For crying out loud people . . .
