    Does?

No that's not true at all. There is a youth antlerless hunt on the kaibab every year. But other than that, you are right on. We have way fewer deer than we have people who want to kill them. We can't afford to lose our breeding does.
  2. If you are thinking about moving out of state, this is a no brainer, must-do, can't miss action. I didn't do it when I left for college, and I ended up being gone for 5 hunting seasons. I can't tell you how badly I miss those bonus points (I couldn't swing the NR fees in college, and it was before the online app only fee). Today if you are moving out of state and want to accumulate BP's all you have to do is pay the $7.50. Definitely a good move. Heck if I was a NR and circumstances would allow it I would find a way to move to AZ, establish residency, buy the lifetime license and then leave. It only takes like 6 mos to establish residency, and if it means you could have a shot at the strip, or pull an early archery tag every 4 or 5 years, it just might be worth it.
  3. The correct answer is you pay non-res. prices for tag but you remain in resident pool, so the 10% cap will not apply to you Agreed.

Triple Crown of Western Shed Hunting

I am short the caribou, but have the others plus an antelope sheath to boot. No eastern whitetail, but I guess I should have looked more while in ID. I have never felt like a shed hunter, in fact I have always felt quite incompetent at it, but when I think back through the years I guess even this blind squirrel found a few nuts.

    Sheep Draw Odds

With 20 pts, you can get a 3% chance at a desert bighorn tag if you pick the right unit. If you pick the wrong unit, you literally have no chance because all the tags will go in the bonus (max point) pass. Sad, but true. For Rocky the best option is that Southern Blue tag and you would have about a 1.5% chance at it. TJ if you want some help with figuring out which units to apply for shoot me a PM or text me. I am happy to help. Is that .81% or 81%? .81% as in <1% again sad, but true. Hate to say it but CA, NV, UT, CO, NM, AZ and MX all have hunt-able populations. I agree on putting Desert first, but only because I am trying to grab any tag I have a shot at.

    Sheep Draw Odds

The easiest to draw Rocky tag is the Lower Blue in 27 and last year you would have had .81% chance. As far as deserts go 15A & 15B are the best odds and last year 12 points got you just over a 2% shot at it. Looking at it that way put the Rocky first and then the desert. Good luck.
  7. Plenty of deer down there. Shouldn't have any trouble finding them.

    Swhacker Broad Heads

Swhack!!! Kind of glad they aren't because if they were I would feel obligated not to tell people that I have had 2 bad experiences with them.
  9. A classic example of the left wingers stating one thing at the onset of legislation and then wanting to change the rules down the road. When this all started they discussed 750 wolves as a target number. There are now thousands of wolves in ID, MT, WY, OR, WA, and UT. But they still want them on the lists, because they don't want anything to be hunted, ever. They want to lock up the lands where wolves exist and throw away the key. Lands that belong to other states and other people. To heck with anyone who has a different idea than them. If they can do it with wolves, they can do it with guns, immigration, entitlements, etc. Sorry Tony, I didn't mean to hijack your thread. Being an ID native this is an issue I have followed closely. Glad that the feds are finally getting out of it, but expect the lawsuits and BS to continue.

Ominous. Once again in harms way....

Saw the Globe Hot Shots on I40 headed towards Gallup. I am with Jcubed. Hope those guys get caught up on all their bookwork this summer.
  13. It might be a little tougher in the 30's to find some overlap areas. There are quite a few places you could find either species in 32. Draw odds for WT in 32 are favorable, but tougher for the muley hunts. If your idea is to party hunt and be able to shoot no mater the species fo the deer, be careful because the laws out west are more restrictive and you could find yourself in a heap of trouble if you got caught. Not trying to accuse you of anything, just giving you a heads up. Good luck, I hope you get into a bunch of deer.

    Checked the cams

Looks like 3 different bears to me, but hey, I am no expert. The first one looks like a friggin 55 gallon drum with feet. Would love to see you get an arrow into him. Good spot.
  15. Have you hunted any of the 20's previously? This may be a good idea for a thread, solo hunters looking for a camp to join or group to apply with. You have had a few profile views today, so some folks are probably considering it. Maybe offer up a little info on your experience / approach and your setup. For instance, do you have your own transportation, gear, etc. Good luck, I hope you find a great group to hunt with.

I am no Amanda, but I think if you go to your profile then over on the left hand side there is a tab that says topics. Clicking on that should do the trick.

    Wow 2013

I would be happy to go to the baseball games, but I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. And since this thread refers back to last year's football thread, RE: UA beating Oklahoma State, I think it makes sense. So any of the pussy cats willing to sign up?

    Wow 2013

So I just had a thought. SInce this topic seems to have caught the interest of so many on this site. Why don't we put together a CWT territorial cup group and go to the football game together, or at least tailgate together before hand? Then, if anyone is interested, we could put a little wager on the game. Say the fans of the losing team have to dress up like their rivals cheerleaders and take a picture to be their avatar until the next year? Any of the kitty cat fans got the fortitiude???
  24. With the recurve, OK, I am impressed.
